I also received a voice mail from the "Department of Legal Affairs." This type of call can be alarming. Thank you to the folks who maintain this website. Checking here just confirmed that the call was part of a scam.

Got a call from the number, heavy accent, heard to understand.  Said he was from the Dept of Treasury and that I didn't respond to a letter sent to me from the Dept.  I told him that I worked for the Dept of Treasury, specifically the IRS, and that he was full of BS.  He didn't like what I told him

got a call from a male subject with a accent saying his name was Kevin miller and an agent with the United States treasury department and wanted to speak with my wife regarding a legal matter. I immediately thought it was a scam and hung up. He called back and I again hung up on him and explaining I was going to report him to the police department.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
