- gn167Received a call from this number this morning at 7:15am. Said my name, that my VISA had been charged at 4am that morning for $300 -wanted to know if I authorized this charge. I said no, then he asked when was the last time I used the card. I said I wasn't sure, but would call the number on the back of my card. They hung up. This is very aggravating that they are calling people at all hours. I feel bad for people that don't understand this is a scam!

- ontarioI am in Ontario and I just received a call from this number. I answered with a hello and then there was nothing but background noise until a cocky young guy rudely asked why I was just listening and not saying hello. English was not his first language. I hung up. I tried calling the number back to inquire what type of business this was but there was no answer. I'm glad that I checked here in case there is another similar call.
- DanielleReceived a phone call at 4:30am on Oct. 10, 2015. Said they were calling from Visa (didn't specify which bank) and that someone had tried to purchase something on eBay at 3:00am for $400 using my card. Also claimed there was an attempt to make a Western Union transfer. They wanted to confirm my address but gave me the wrong one. The guy was very hard to understand with poor English with a ton of background noise. I hung up and called the number back, rang a bunch of times then asked for a security code then disconnected on me.
- LoriI received a call from this number at 6:00 am on October 8, 2015. He said he was calling from visa and someone made an eBay purchase on my credit card at 4:00 am and attempted western union money. He urged me to provide him 4 digits of my credit card which i did not. When I asked which bank he was calling from he said TD, RBC or Scotia Bank. I replied which one? He hung up. I reported this telephone number to visa.

- DianeAlso received a call from this number. Reportedly from TD Visa Credit Card Security. Noticed suspicious activity on my card - purchase of $486 on eBay and more pending for Western Union. Purchases reportedly originated from Vancouver (I am in Ontario). Long story short, I eventually ended the call, and spoke with TD. It IS a scam. Block that number. I have reported to the Spam Center.

- FredReceived a call at 6:25 AM this morning from someone with an East Indian accent claiming to be CIBC VISA.
They say a fraudulent charge of $300 was made on eBay and another at Western Union using our card.
They need us to give them our credit card number to confirm they have the right account...?
We promise to call them right back and hung up.
Googling the number brought us to 800 Notes.
The area code 909 is for California so 6:25 AM here is 3:25 AM there.
It is highly unlikely for VISA to be calling anyone at that time.
But if the call were routed with a false area code showing and coming from India, it would be 4:25 PM there.
That would be more likely.
VISA and police have been notified and friends and neighbours have been cautioned.- Caller: CIBC VISA (claimed)
- Fred's youngest brotherGot the call at 5:30am, today (an hour before Fred's), but answering machine kicked in before I got to it. No message, but call ID was 1-909-585-1400. They must be going through the telephone book.
