I got a call from 909-666-5713 telling me legal action was being taken against me and that they have mailed me the information multiple times and I failed to call them which is a total lie they did not mail me anything I have a locking mail box and check it every day, so that is a lie. They said I needed to call officer Jason Brown at 323-786-0626 Ex.226 and he would help me resolve the situation. It is a scam I looked it up and many people have gotten a call from one or both of those numbers and it is always a scam. I did not call the 323-786-0626 Ex.226 and do not plan to call it.This person is NOT calling from the US Treasury Dept  as they say.

Just received a message from an indian guy named Brandon carter with dept of legal affairs. 909-666-5713 said I had an enforcement action against me and I should call right away to avoid a legal mess. he then said have a blessed day?
kind of worried me at first for about 30 seconds and then I googled the number. this is the newest scam and from what I read, police cant do anything so we just need to let friends and family know. I really hate these guys!

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

It's not a new scam.  They have been at this for over 2 years.  All they do is change names, mine was Jack Gilbert, and phone numbers.  most phone companies have a way to block these calls for free but believe me next week you will get the same from another phone number.

Just received a message from a person calling from The Dept of Legal Affairs. Same message as described above.  909-666-5713, same number.  Said I had an enforcement action that have been started in my name and I should call right away to avoid a legal mess. If I'm too busy, then they suggest I have my retained attorney do it for me.  He then said have a blessed day, which totally cracked me up!  Can you say 'red flag'??  Glad I googled and found this site to report it.

I was told that because I was not home to receive a certified letter, a warrant was being issued for my immediate arrest for 3 counts of federal tax evasion.  Bunk!  If a certified letter had been sent, a receipt would have been left for me to pick the letter up at the Post Office.  The man told me his name was Mark Johnston (although he had a thick Indian accent).  When I asked for verification, such as a return phone number, his boss's name, my case number, and my social security number, the line went dead.

Same scam about an arrest warrant being issued by a US Treasury "inspector."   An individual with a thick Indian accent purportedly named Thomas Benson directed me to call this number, which was answered by another individual, also thick Indian accent, purportedly named Glen Barnes.  Mr. Barnes hung up when I asked questions.

Said an arrest warrant had been issued for me. A lien had been put against my house which I do not own a house. Insisted on my lawyers information.

Got the same call from Brandon Carter...legal affairs.  Told me Steven Torres is handling the file and to call him.  Number he gave me was 661-998-4086, ext.1190.  Not calling!

Hey, Good old Brandon Carter called me and read  the same script.  Poor Brandon, still looking for a sucker to take his bait.
