Got a call from this number, company says to be Universal Adventures. Offering vacation to Florida (orlando & daytona beach) and bahamas for 500$ US, no transportation included.

They already knew that I had a Credit Card and what type, they had all my home info and e-mail info. They confirmed it was not a contest and that is a special offer.

They insist on getting your cc number and I spoke with 3 different persons :
    Christine, Deana and Ryan.

They gave me this number, adress and website.

    Universal adventure
3365, cypress mill road, suit 2
    Bruinswick, georgia
    31520

I truly think this is a scam. Anyone else got this call and hesitated on taking advantage of the travel package?

The "good" comments I found on this offer are all the same... Weird.

    Hello,
Yes it is a scam. I had the same problem, in the meantime I found a lot about them. Don't accept anything from them, they are such liars! I also found rip-off reports linked to their phone numbers: 1-877-800-0688  and 912-264-6043. And I also noticed the “positive” comments that are all the same...If you would accept to buy the voucher from them and you will change your mind, they will NEVER accept to offer you the full refund, which is unacceptable from a serious company!!! The only way to have your refund is to try to cancel with them (which they will not accept) and right away to call your credit card company and to describe the situation. What they are doing is illegal; they are guilty of misrepresentation and deceptive marketing techniques. They are also putting a lot of pressure on the client, which is also illegal. Anyway, in case that someone was scammed by these thieves, just to let you know that there is a chance to have your money back, with the credit card company. Also, if you are in USA, you can go into a lawsuit against them (and make complaints against them to BBB and to the Georgia State Attorney). If you are not from USA you absolutely have to call your state’s / country consumer department and your credit company. You will see, this deceptive travel company will try to threaten you with legal pursuit, which is absolutely false and a big lay, because they don’t have any right (and power) to do that, BUT YOU DO!!! So, in case that you already paid the vacation, and you realize that it’s not what you wanted, don’t be afraid and cancel it because nothing from what they will threaten you it’s true!!!

I just got a call from 912-263-6043 and said that I won a contest to Orlando, Daytona and the Bahamas. She knew I had a CC and type. She wanted a conference call with my husband - I said that wasn't going to happen. She went on to say that it would normally cost over $2500 but that I could have it for only $250US per person. That I would be staying at a hotel (3 days and 2 nights each) at each place on them, but that I would have to pay for my way there and back - however I would get to take advantage of whatever the hotel has to offer - Yippe! Most hotels I've been in are free to take advantage of their 'offers' are included. I would have to pay for my meals, gratuities, taxes, and travel with in Florida and to and from the Bahamas. I was wary right from the start and hung up saying that I'd wait for the email that would tell me all about my FREE trip to Florida!

Same thing happened to me.  From Operator Jordan number 6928.  Wanted to speak to my husband, that we had won a 3 nights(Daytona Beach) to Universal Studios, 2 day free passes, than on to the Bahamas.  She told me, YES!!!!!! GO AHEAD DROP THE PHONE!!!! you have won...until she asked for my husband's Visa card.  We both hung up.  What a rude thing to do to people.  The call came in from 912-264-6043.

How to have your money back
Hi, I am from canada too and I had the same problem with Universal Adventure USA, I was misled and they refused to give my money back. Because they threatened me with some record of the conversation we had during the call, I thought that something was wrong, an honest ompany would never do that...So I called the Office for consumers and the RCMP Fraud Office and I called phonebusters and I gave all details I had about Universal Adventure USA. They said that it is not the first time when they hear this and they are keeping all this information till they have more complaints and then they send the file to an investigation bureau. They also advised me to call the credit card company and to describe the situation. I called the CC company and they said that because I received an NON SOLICITED call, and Universal Adventure USA used HIGH PRESSURE techniques in order to have mu CC number, and because I tried without result to cancel with Universal Adventure USA, I was covered for this FRAUD. 24 hours after I talked with the Security officer of my CC company, I received my money back...I truly advise everyone to reveal this kind of unfortunate experience to the federal and provincial organizations in charge with exposing the marketing frauds. It's important to call phonebusters in order to stop Universal Adventure USA and other companies of this kind to scam innocent people...

They called me back a couple of times and since I always answer my phone in french, I keep telling them I don't speak english and they keep asking for me. They are always being really rude and oh! My cc company did not even ask any questions, when they heard the company's name they said that they were taking care of it and that I should not worry about them.

Though, I did not think of calling consumer's protection. I guess I will givev them a call so that they know such company is harrasing people and putting pressure on them for something they don't really want and are not answered to their questions.

Good luck to anyone who was involved with them, they are a pain in the butt!

I've had 3 calls for them fishing for personal information.  Today's was from 912-267-6842.  It was Charlene and she refused to give me a full company name, pass me to a supervisor or even tell me what website I supposedly registered on.

This company has failed miserably in customer service.  5 minutes after realizing I had agreed to this I called their customer service area and was told I had to call back Monday to their accounting department.  The girl then went on to question what I was upset about, each complaint I made she put the onus on me for not having asked any questions.  (She indicated that had I asked they could then have provided me with discount travel arrangements....odd that one is supposed to know that).  I indicated that I thought this was a scam and she told me I was making defamatory comments.  I was so angry that I raised my voice when she basically called me a liar and she sweetly said I was a "real" pleasure to deal with.  I think they failed that class about customer service.  Finally she indicated that suddenly someone from accounting would be able to call me back...hmmm...thought they weren't in until Monday (it's Saturday).

I received phone calls in or about April, 2008
paid for a trip to this Company, but did not go as I was told I had
a year in which to take it.   I do not have full particulars of the
itinerary, but paid wxtra to have extra conveniences in the
accomodation, this was taken from my credit card also.

Is this actually a scam and if so how does one get their money back
I live in Canada and would like this information

    Appreciate your co-operation.

I personally worked for this "so called" UNIVERSAL ADVENTURE. It is a scam a huge one. Plus the boss is a real [***]. I mean she has bright red hair tattoos all over her arms and legs and piercings all over her face. I am personally sorry for all of you that have been scamed. Take legal action. The owner has already lost his license in one state lets make it two.

Thats funny I also worked for Universal Adventure Usa  ? Universal adventure online its not that its  a scam you just have to know exactly how the company works let me give you guys the details we dont have your cc number what so evever its a guess you guys were asked Im showing your an avtive member in good standings with visa cc right then you might make the reply yes or if you said no they said it must be your mc right then you replied yes thats were they get you dont get me wrong you do provide your name province telephone # and date of birth know some of you do put a little more info in depending on what website your on. Now we read you the spill and then put you over to shipping then they proceed to ask for your card info they dont have it dont give it to them there are hidden costs and you actually might not even be staying at the resorts told to you they are only @ star maybe # star resorts if your lucky and again you are responsible for hotel tax and your own transportation ammong other things just research before you give them your cc # the owner is young  she is very rude to the customers especially if you say your not interested because you caught on run peopkle run  Florida is a great place to vacation just go thru your own travel agency or universal its self. Know that if the owner "Nicole
" is rude to imagine how she treats her employees.

I was also scammed by this company and they won't give my money back. My husband and i are forced to use it and are going in December. My question is do you know if anyone has actually gone to the resort using their vouchers? Are the accomadations nice? This caused me alo tof grief as my husband was not happy. When i was originally contacted telling me i won a free trip and i stupidly gave my c.c info to them i said i wanted to talk to my husband first and was presurred not to pass up on this one time deal, wow am i an idiot, i have never felt so stupid in my whole life. I sure hope i get something for our $523.00 Canadian. If anyone can shed light on this please e-mail me at mobbsca@yahoo.ca

    Thanks

    Hi.
The same happened to me they charged me 500$ and refuse to refund it I spoken to my bank and we had a conference call between me universal studio and bank manager, My bank inst. backed me up and  said that they will go ahead to dispute the charges even if the trip is not refundable. The first what you have to do you have to cancel on the trip ASAP by reference letter as i did. After 2 weeks i got my money back what they were illegally trying to have. do not give up! I hope that this will help to all victims.

I got the same call, but they were clear that this is not a contest and that you are paying discounted rates because as a multi million dollar company they use it as an advertising write off. the people that are pissed off are those that were not listening. My trip was great.

According to this defamatory and libelous response you have crossed the line of truth and lie. There has never been any such charge made of this company and you are facing legal action for speading defamatory statements, IP addresses are easy to confirm when there is pressing legal action as is the case against you. So this is what you said and this lie is the cause for the legal action you will soon be made aware of

Peter said "What they are doing is illegal; they are guilty of misrepresentation and deceptive marketing techniques. They are also putting a lot of pressure on the client, which is also illegal.
