I've been receiving calls from this number for a few weeks.  When I don't answer, there is a busy signal sound on my answering machine.  When I called back, it was a company called North Eastern.  Nobody was willing to tell me what they do, but they did remove my phone number from their lists.

I have received calls for the last two days from 914-593-1600. When I answered the phone all I heard was static, and no one responded.

They call my house about twice a day.  Every time I answer the call hangs up.  I try calling it back, and an answering machine answers....I press "3" for "all other calls" and then I'm transferred to a ring tone that no one ever picks up.

Been receiving calls every few days from this number. Usually no answer (autodialing), but when there is a human, they've been asking for Laura Jones.

I get a phone call from this number every couple of days.  I typically don't answer calls on my cell from phone numbers I don't know and wait for a message.  These guys however NEVER leave one, so i just get annoyed when they call. Is it possible to block them?

I've been receiving calls from this number every day for the last week at my workplace.  When I answer the call, no one responds and the line is disconnected.  This is annoying!

i got call and a recording said hang on for important call. then rang then
stopped ringing .dead silence. i tried to call back several times says to stay on the line.then i waited and waited and wait ( you get the idea)then it rings and rings and rings and no one eveer picks up.if i owe someone money don't you think they should answer?

i have been getting calls from this number for months now and they never leave a message and now another number 866-349-4480is doing the same thing and has been reported as well.  what the heck is this and is it a legit agency?

They are a debt collecting agency. You probably have some lingering medical bill you don't know about

They are a debt collection agency. If the person does not identify himself clearly then they are breaking the 2006 Fair Debt Recovery Act. If you have recieved written communications from them you can tell them in writing to stop calling you and they are obligated to do so. So keep recordings of the messages after you have written to them and record the lack of clear identifying information and your phone records. If your debt has been paid you can sue them for harrasment. You can use one of those no win no fee lawyers.

It is really nice to stick it to these guys.

After much deliberation in inquires about that number 914 593 1600, I checked with the connecticut govenment and they are registered as a licensed debt collector and does not give out much details because of confidentiality.  However, make sure you check your credit report first to see if all is well with all of your creditors, befor giving these people money assumed debt that you may not have had in the first place, but fattening the pockets of the abouve mentioned.

i have been receiving calls from 914-593-1600 for about two months now.  i have called the number a million times.  it is a collection agency called "northeastern". i don't know what they want from me.  i pay my bills on time and don't have any debt.  i went as far as to check my credit report to make sure no one has used my information to get credit cards under my name.  no one has.  what do these people want from me?  when i call back i get a recording.  how do i get them to stop calling me.  it is driving me crazy.  samantha

Today, one of the thousands of times these people have called my house, my daughter answered and got a real life person and all she would say to my daughter is that I have a case number and she gave it to her but when I call back the number with the case number I still get no answer...whatever...this is driving me nuts I can't figure out what they want and if it is a creditor what do I owe?????

This seems to be a collecting billing scam, they attempted to call me on my cell number but did'nt leave a messege. When I called them back and just gave them my cell number, they said that there was a bill unpaid back in 2005 from radiology. They never asked for my name and then hung up on me stating that they must have the wrong person and that they would remove my name from their list. I would report this.
