they left a message saying that there is a law suit agains me. call back for more information. when i called someone answered and said it is IRS. i told them my accountant will call you.

Same thing for me, twice a day

I got 4 today 07-16-2015. I called back twice but they hung up on me. Only message was that there is an IRS lawsuit against me.

They called me twice today. I didn't answer and both times they left an automated voice message. I didn't catch the first part as the voice message recording started after their recording. It told me I needed to call IMMEDIATELY on their department number. But nothing else. Stupid scammers...

3 calls from this number demanding I call them back...vm ...nasty  threatening....

from experience when the IRS has an issue with you they send you something in the mail

I got the same lawsuit message.  Called back and busy.   Ran the number on white pages and no info.  SCAM

I just got this call two minutes ago. I have proof that my taxes are paid, so this is bs. Definitely a scam.

I am going to report it to HR Block, too.

Why would you report it to HRBlock?  They aren't going to do anything about it and probably already know that this scam exists since it is so common.  Hee is the official IRS web site detailing this scam and there are links in the article for you to make the proper reports:

Just received a call for 914-595-5441 that I am being sued by the IRS.  Called back for another line and the number was busy.  This is a scam.  Please ignore!

Same here, I didn't answer and they left a message.  I couldn't hear the first part either, but it said there is a lawsuit against me and to call immediately. Hope no one out there falls for it!

Called twice in one day; I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number. A recorded voicemail was left, cut off at the beginning, asking me to call the number immediately. Do not call these scammers back! Blocking the number and filing a complaint to the IRS at the URL posted above (thank you for posting that BTW!).

Just received two calls today. First voice mail was not  clear, called back got hung up on. Answered and was told their was IRS had issues with me, do not remember exact wording. Tried to call the IRS but the phones are over loaded. Scammers are bogging down the IRS lines!

called and said the local sheriff would come to arrest my son if I didnt pay his back taxes....keep asking them questions and they get confused

The said they were from the IRS and an audit covering 2009-2013 showed I owed $3456.28.  I said that's all?!  Did you decide to reduce my debt?  The caller then transferred me to his supervisor.  Supervisor wanted me to pay now or he would send the sheriff to my house. I laughed and hung up.  What a scam.  The IRS does not have foreigners who barely speak English call you and demand payment.  SCAM.

Unfortunately the called the wrong person.   My home.

I 'happen' to be with the IRS and also one of the attorneys that just happens to deal with unpaid back tax accounts.   I called them back and let them know that they are in a peck of trouble as I do have the direct line to 1.  the IRS,    2.  HomeLand Security,   3.  F.B.I. and  the District Attorney for each state (direct telephone numbers.)

When they heard who I was they hung up real fast and now the phone line is busy.

I am still going to have them investigated because its a federal crime with prison time for impersonating a federal officer.

Now lets see if their little scam with this number continues?
