Called my home warning about some manner of Federal Courts action.

same thing happened here. Called me twice today and left a message

Got the same call today and he called last week as well!

Scam Alert! The Feds don't call, they always use the mail.  Tell Steve-o to bring it on, then ignore it like it never happened.

Steve Martin strikes again!  Ignore this guy and block the number.

Total scam.  Originates in either India or Pakistan.

IRS does not file lawsuits.   Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter.  But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters.  90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively.  IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS has no powers of arrest.    If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job.  IRS does not cold call anyone and ask for money. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case.  No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments.  Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but  usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement.    All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals.  All  contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail.

Received Steve Martin's pre-recorded threat call in 505 area code twice today, ~30min ago.

this guy has called twice and i have reported him twice to authorities and there seems to be nothing they can do to find this guy. Can't they set up a sting and see who comes for the money?

The money would end up overseas somewhere, probably India or Pakistan where the calls originate.

Same here. Got home from work and good ol' Steve Martin called me.  Same thing, threats of legal action if I did not return his call concerning money I owe the IRS.  Good thing is, I don't owe.  Caller ID showed to be Sacramento California.  Ignored it.

Steve Martin called us here in UT too. Pretty low IQ to think anybody would buy his antics with that accent and name. Lol!!

Called me twice yesterday also.

Called today with same threatening message as others have reported. Notice that he does not have your name. Any legitimate notification of impending legal action would address a specific person by name.

Received a phone call from this number on Saturday.  I suspected it was a scam as 1:  the feds don't phone and 2:  there was no pertinent information other than the phone number.

Calls from Steve Martin AND the "IRS".  Lucky me lol.  Threats of final litigation and collection.  A total scam!  Never provided with paperwork.  IRS does not litigate via voice mail lol
