This is the same IRS back taxes scam. This time the crooks are pretending to be calling from the US Treasury. My jerk left his name as Steve Martin. Yeah, Steve Martin!

Same caller Steve Martin stating from calling from US TREASURY. 2nd attempt  or else face criminal charges. It appears  to be a recording as 2 messages were left with the same information.  

I just received phone call from this caller ID 916-604-7194. The guy told me he  is from US Treasury and there is a legal lawsuit filed against me. He asked me to write down the number to call back and gave me the same number he called from 916-604-7194 ! He said this is the direct number to the concern officer and the officer will give me all the details. The guys has heavy accent. Fortunately, I googled this number and realized this is a scam. Be aware. Don't call this number and don't answer to this number.

We just got the same call 2 times - so I googled the number.  I thought it was probably bogus. Glad I checked.  Same name Steve Martin - but the accent didn't seem to go with the name. LOL Same number 916-604-7194 - same message that the US Treasury was trying to get ahold of me to appear and I could be charged if I didn't respond.  The crazy thing is they don't say who they are calling.  I think it is a machine.

Ha, just got the same call from Steve Martin, only this is a different number from the one he used last week!
"You are being contacted by the Department of Justice because of a possible detention and will appear before a Federal Judge, Grand Jury, or something else."  Really!  Steve, the U.S. Government sends a written notice, they don't call nor send emails until you have established contact with someone in the office that conducts the business.

Have received the same recorded message from this caller twice today as well as twice earlier this month.  Transcript as follows:  "Hi.  This message is intended to contact you.  My name is Steve Martin and I'm calling regarding an enforcement action executed by the US Treasury intending [sic] your serious attention.  Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid an initial appearance before a magistrate judge or a grand jury for a federal criminal offense.  My number is (916) 604-7194.  I repeat my number is (916) 604-7194.  I adwise [sic] you to cooperate with us and to help us help you.  Thank you."

Notice they never say who they are calling, they misuse the legalese (intentional second attempt?  seriously?? and like a phone call is going to summon you to appear before a judge or grand jury?  I think not . . .)

Bogus Intimidating message - have had 4-5 messages left on my machine,  I have reported them to the Dept of Treasury and would like to see these crooks prosecuted for threatening people and fraudulent behavior.

I received the same phone message today From Steve Martin with a heavy Indian accent.  I called the number back to see what I would get and the same guy answered and said "Steve Martin, US Treasury Dept"

I just received a message from Steve Martin as well!!  This is just getting out of control.  I looked at the caller id and they called 6 times today and its only 1:30.  He finally left a message.  I'm so frustrated as it seems the no call list does not stop anyone from calling!

I got the same call just now but when I called back it said the number was dialed improperly. I sure hope some one catches this guy.

Same thing here!  Except I could not understand him enough to know what his name was.  Thank goodness for caller ID.

Call from 916-604-7194 from George Rogers with the Department of Legal Affairs.  Scam.

yap, got the call today and this is not the first time, six months ago i got the same demanding call from washington dc regarding back taxes. I just ignore.

Got the same recorded message from 916 604-7194.  It said something about a serious criminal offense and a magistrate judge, and warned me I was in dire straights over something or another.  I called the number back several times, as I wanted to tell this guy to go *** himself, but there is no answer.

I also received a call from a call a few minutes ago at 1;35pm  PST (10-24-14)  who gave his name as Steve Martin. It was an automatic call; so there was no live person to ask questions. He stated the call was from the State Treasury  and I could face possible indictment for something (inaudible). There will be a grand Jury indictment against me. He wants me to respond and help them so they can help me. The caller did not mention my name or any other name in my household. I just want these calls to stop. I have registered my name on the Do Not Call List, but this still continues. Early this morning, I received another call from 864 368 9463. I Googled the number but I had to pay to get info on the person. I refused to pay and so I do not know who the caller is.

Steve Martin is a busy guy - he called me.  What he forgot is that he called me 5 months ago - I called my tax guy - he told me it was a con.
