This is a discussion forum where one can report or describe suspicious or unknown phone calls, but reporting them here does not stop the calling. YOU have to take action to do that! (google is your friend). Consider buying a call blocker from your favorite store if nothing else works.
http://gg.gg/blockers - TOTO replies to anonymous| 9 repliesI too got a call from this number and name John Evaston. He was obvious Indian and said his name was Alex with 'Access Tech support for Microsoft"

They will attempt to fool you into providing them direct access to your computer so that they may get direct access to your important information such as bank accounts numbers, SSNs, passwords, etc.- Caller: Fraud / Scam

- CWG40 replies to sandiNo one here is calling you. Call blocker is your best bet.
- DTSThey called about the same thing. I told them I had no issues. They said I did. I asked how they got my number (as it's a mobile phone and I am a minor) and they said that my computer had been sending error messages for three months and that my number was connected with the computer. I told them to not call again and to take my number off of their list. Then got told to shut up and go to hell. I don't know what he said after that becasue I hung up.
- justin replies to TOTO| 1 replyyou have to tell them to put you on the no call list by law they have to or face a fine or be sued
- justin replies to Slim| 1 replyBY LAW these people are NOT supposed to call you IF you tell them to put you on the DO NOT CALL list. (90% sure about that).
- LeAnnI got a call today from 917-200-9422. I was immediately suspicious. I asked him if I could call him back and he gave me a different phone number so I called that number and another foreigner answered. I hung up. My take on this is that these people buy U.S based cell phones and take them overseas so they do not have to abide by U.S law, such as the "Do not call" list. I have a Chicago based cell phone but if I went to Italy and called someone it would still say Chicago (Or Illinois), NOT Italy, on their caller ID.
I am going to start wasting THEIR time like they are doing to me. When they ask me to go online, I'll just tell them to hold on and then go about my business. They'll eventually hang up. And then I'll keep doing that.
Also, I found this on the BBB website: http://www.bbb.org/blog/2013/07/bbb-alerts-re ... h-support-scam/ - Barb G replies to TOTOI'm glad I saw your "report" on this John Evaston. My sister in Texas also received a similar call and actually thought she would take the "plan" as she didn't want her children to come to "clean up her computer"....she is 86 and didn't understand and gave her credit card number to them to the tune of near $300.00...Lucky her son was told and got her out of this "plan"....cancelled it through her credit card company etc. It's all fraud as far as I'm concerned and told her to never, never again even listen to these idiots....they pry on the elderely.....
