Caller ID says NY, NY. Man with heavy Indian accent claims to be US Treasury. Is scam going around. Don't give them any info!

My Mother got 2 calls from this number, same type of accent, had a case number was looking for money.  

Attention Mr. Phisher (aka. IRS, Dept. of Treasury fake),

Caller ID says NY, NY. Man with heavy Indian accent claims to be US Treasury. Is scam phone ask you to call back. Be careful!  Don't give them any info!

He called saturday morning to Tell me that I own money on back taxes for2012.
Had a very heavy Indian,Pakistani accent.
Threatened me with the police coming to arrest me .
His name was Joe Marshall from Treasury dept .,calling Saturday morning .Right .
Be aware and do not get scared guys !

My mom got 7 calls today from this number.  Very heavy Indian accent, very difficult to understand.  Said it was in reference to a legal matter.  They didn't want to talk to me, but my mom got on the phone & gave permission for them to talk to me.  They told me the police were going to be at her door shortly to put her in hand cuffs and she would be going to jail for a minimum of 3 days!  I repeatedly asked to speak to someone who did not have such a heavy accent so that I could understand them better.  They gave me to the "chief", who spoke with the same heavy accent.  Told me that it was from taxes for 2012 and that they sent documentation regarding this matter & that my mom was running away from this debt!  My mom is 84, doubt she could run if she tried.

Please ignore these people and report them!  Praying on senior citizens or anyone for that matter is just wrong.

I got two missed calls from this phone number and a voicemessage told me to call back . I'm glad that I googled the number . Finally relaxed.Thank you people.

So - same story as listed by everyone on this forum:  guy with West Asian accent calls claiming that a complaint was filed against me for back taxes...so, obviously this is a big scam.

Anyway, if they call you, please file a complaint against them on the U.S. Treasury's website http://www.treasury.gov/tigta/contact_report_scam.shtml

AND

call them RELENTLESSLY!  

when I said "call them relentlessly" I meant the scammers not the actual Treasury department

Why are they still around?  Why isn't there somebody do something to stop the scam?

This is a scam call and have received two different ones. First call stated was from IRS, and today the caller said he was from US Attorney General's Office and asked for my husband.. They need to shut these people down and charge them for misrepresentation

Got a message from our old buddy Jim Marshal at the US treasury.  Had to play it 3 times just to understant what he said.  Glad i googled the number.

I received this call right after I online quote auto insurance and the guy said he is private investigator and I have a case number xxx. Please ignore this call from NY!

I received voice message from this guy.  The first message stated that his name is Eddy Foster (spelling?), and he's an investigator, and there is a case against me.  My case number is CMxxxxxxx.  I want to make sure the name; so I called back the number 917-563-9659.  I asked him to spell his name. This time he spelled his name as Chester Benn, and then I told him this is a scam, and I'll report him with his number to IRS and local police.  

This number left me two voicemails. Now, Officer Eric Fisher (?) from the "Crime Investigation Department" had two different, yet heavy accents in both calls. What a joke. Will be filing a complaint.

This number just called my dad stating that my mom is involved in a "federal investigation" and has a warrant, but had such a heavy accent that my dad didn't believe him and told him off.

Got a call yesterday from Neil foster.  It was for my father who has been dead for over fifteen years.  I don't think they will get any money out of him or jail time.

I received 2 calls. He left a message on the first, then called back. Told me he was Officer A.Foster of the Crime/Investigation Department of the Federal Marshall and there was a claim against me, CM######. I said "Oh really?" He said yes and asked if I received the documents that were sent. I told him there were no documents sent and he got mad and asked if I was calling him a liar. I told him yes. He then informed me there was a warrant for my arrest and all he needed to do was to inform the (my local town) police. I told him to call them as the town I live in does not have a police department.

I called the local FBI and they gave me the Federal Trade Commission # to call for complaints. Called them. Going to post on FB and call my local TV news.

I just got the same EXACT phone call.

I got this number phone call this morning , I have called back , he seems Indian , very difficult to understand what he said. he said he is IRS , and asked me who I am , then hand up phone.
