This company has called my place of business several times, each time identifying themselves as the department of Crime and Justice, but they are obviously calling from a call center. The person on the phone has a thick Middle-Eastern accent, gives an American name, and a different call back number each time. The call back number each time is too a different part of the country. Googling the area codes gives me Kansans City, MO, New York, NY, Chicago, IL and others.

I have been getting the same calls, also!! I called an attorney that handles these sort of situations, and they told me that,obviously they got my and may other people information from the internet,for example if you submitted an application on line for a payday loan company,and you didn't pay it they will some how get your information,and call your place of employment and harrass you to alot,yes it is a scam,don't senf them any money just hang up,and cuss them out,the attorney told me when they see that they can't get money from you, they will stop eventually.Good Luck!

This isn't the first time this has happened to me.  I am going to report this to my local police department and to the FBI.  The scam artist/s may or may not stop.  I called their bluff the first time, didn't report it,
and was left alone for a month.  Now, they're back at it, or it's other scam artist/s.  Anyone reading this
should do the same, which is report them to the authorities.  Don't be scared, don't return their phone call/s, and do report them to local authorities.  FYI-they called my home, my cell, and my work stating they were from the "State Department of Crime and Justice", using an American name of "Matthew Clark" and left a local number to call, although my voice mail had a number originating in NYC.  The last time they called my work (twice within 30 mins., said it was an emergency.  When I returned their phone call, they said because I wasn't cooperating, they were sending someone to my work within the hour and that I was going to be "Locked up for the rest of my life." Yes, they got my info. when I applied for payday loans online.  Trying to take advantage of people already having financial problems!  Let's unite and take them down!

Received a call thes same people but, I was nice to start and got all their names and info. Mr. Jerome King and Xavier Cage(6629). Mr. Cage stated that he was calling from the Department of Crime and Justice out of California even though the number was from NY (917-628-2327). I was told that they were going to have me arrested and deported because I was an illegal Alien and that the same thing would happen to my aunts. I did take out a online loan two years ago but, it was payed off in a matter of months. The Company that they named I have never heard of and the credit number was not mind.

This guy with a very thick mid eastern accent must have us on auto dial.  He calls time after time and asks for people that do not even work here.  He has a filthy mouth and continues to call people names and if we don't give him to whom he is calling for "we will be sorry"....This same guy calls all the time using different numbers.  He's a pain and is as rude as anyone I have ever talked to!

I also got a call from this moron. First he posed as lawyer in Texas then as an attorney in California. This time he is an agent for the "Department of crime and Justice", which doesn't exist. I turned it over to my wife who works for the city prosecutor who in turn will turn over to the attorney general

I received a call from this number on my home phone and Mr. Foster (Heavy Accent) left a message stating that he is with Dept. of Crimes 7 Justice and to please return the call.  My co worker called me at home (out on sick leave) and told me that he called my work and when she told him I was not there he want to speak to my Supervisor or Human Resourses.  She hung up on him and was told to file a harassment report with the police department.  We are not allowed to give out any information on any employees and neither will Human Resourses without a consent from the employee.  I will file wih FTC and Attorney General.  I did have a payday loan but was paid off months ago.

Within the last hour I have received THREE rude, disturbing, insulting, threatening phone calls from this number - (917) 628-2327.  The number shows up on CALLER ID as registered to a Mr. Joseph Milstein in New York.  
To be absolutely fair, I do not even know who that man is.  His name was never mentioned, and they claimed not to know him when I inquired as to whether or not a Mr. Milstein was physically there (at whatever office/location they were calling from...you could hear multiple people talking at the same time in the background).  Could they just somehow swipe his telephone number electronically?  (At times like this I REALLY wish I had a better understanding of how all these electronic gadgets, gizmos, applications, etc. worked!)
On to the "substance" of the phone call (perhaps "substance" is too strong a word for the "mess" it quickly turned into):  all the men I spoke with claimed to be with THE DEPARTMENT OF CRIME AND JUSTICE, a federal agency with the US Government.  When I pointed out that such an agency did not exist, to the best of my knowledge, they called me "stupid and a liar."  And that pretty much ended the NICE portion of the conversation!  The threats got worse after that:   THEIR WORDS:  I had committed a "criminal act" that was going to land me in jail, charged with a felony, the accusations just got more and.more preposterous.  Without realizing it, I actually started laughing at the more absurd "phrasiology" that was being being thrown my way.  ((I am NO expert, but I did manage to take enough law courses in my college days to recognize the difference between civil and  criminal law procedures/terminology to know when a person is 'faking' their legal mumble-jumble SO badly, you assume they must have gotten their law degree from AMERICAN LEGAL DRAMAS INC.!)
Finally, as the vocal volume kept raising on THEIR end of the telephone line (I literally had to hold the receiver approximately a foot from m;y ear...they were SO LOUD that ANYONE could listen in WITHOUT the benefit of a speakerphone function as soon as they entered the room!)...they spewed some baloney about how I am 87 years old and I am going to be behind bars for the rest of my life, without any consideration for my age, since American citizens HAVE NO RIGHTS once they are criminals, and they are going to have a good laugh about where I end up.  (Additionally they told me I DO NOT SOUND 87, so they did not really think it was me...normally I might consider it a compliment, when someone says I sound or look younger than my age!...but NOT THIS TIME, considering the source!)
The conversation went even MORE downhill after the afore mentioned remark - hard to believe it could get worse, but it most certainly did.
Once again they started in on trying to force me (with even MORE threats) to agree to certain "facts" they ALREADY had in their possession - for VERIFICATION purposes only, of course.  They were rattling off my birth date, my phone number(s), my Social Security numbers, my BANK ACCOUNT numbers/branch, etc., address (current and former).  When I refused to say YEA or NAY to ANY information requests/verifications, they pronounced that it was NOT even me!  Or at least, I am guessing that is what they were implying:  that I was some other family member PRETENDING to be me. When I asked for the umpteenth time to "speak with THEIR SUPERVISOR" - not surprisingly, I suppose, I was NEVER given HIS name - I was told that I had to give them a current Mastercard or VISA account number, because this SUPERVISOR is a very, very busy man and charges $100.00 a SECOND (yes, that is correct, I asked for that number to be REPEATED several times!) to speak to.  I pointed out that federal government employees DO NOT REQUIRE credit card, or any other type, payments before speaking with a citizen about an alleged legal matter.  Silly me, OF COURSE THEY DO, according to my two tormentors!    
(I know, it even sounds ridiculous typing it.  Trust me, it sounded even MORE ridiculous trying to ask for clarification(s) from them about their various remarks!  I did remind them at that point that I DID NOT CALL THEM, THEY CALLED ME!  For some reason, they did not see the humor in that statement!)

This total waste of time, their migraine inducing diatribes, their total lack of basic common decency, the anti-American and anti-female rhetoric could ALMOST be written off as a preposterous low-brow comedy of errors, and at the very least the DEFINITE WAY YOU DO NOT WANT TO START YOUR WEEK, this being Monday after all.   However, there was one last NOT-SO-CHARMING bit of venom that followed the "we are calling the police, they will be there to arrest you soon" declaration - - -   before they hung up the final time, they let me know that they were going to BLOW UP MY HOUSE.  Nice way to sign off, don't you think.  As exit lines go, I will remember that one for a while.

The THEY I have referred to in the above statements identified themselves as "Mr. William Smith" and "Mr. Carl Miller."  HOW ORIGINAL!!!  And yes, they both had heavy, Middle Eastern accents, surly attitudes, and voices I believe I have recognized from previous calls before - albeit with different Americanized names and different companies.
This call was just SO MUCH MORE THREATENING and UPSETTING that I felt the need and the obligation to share it with all of you in the same predicament - through NOTHING we have done wrong - with these individuals.

If anyone believes it would be worth the time for myself and for any agency that may take a look at this kind of harassing and threatening behavior, please post a reply with your advice where I should take this matter from  here, if anywhere, when you have the chance.  If my fellow readers/posters here believe it would be better just to leave the matter rest, and hope it does not happen again (UPDATE:  they have tried to call two more times since I started typing this, I did not answer but let it go to voice mail, where they left two more threatening messages)...and just hold out hope they will eventually stop, please let me know your opinion as well.

THESE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN HAARASING ME FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. THEY CALL ME AT WORK  I HAVE HAD TO CHANGE MY CELL,BANK ACCOUNT AND EMAIL ADDRESS. THEY HAVE TALKED VERY NASTY TO ME BEFORE AND WILL NOT LEAVE ME ALONE. THEY ALWAYS TELL ME I'M GOING TO JAIL THAT I HAVE COMMITED A CRIME, I HAVE TOLD THEM BEFORE THAT I KNOW THAT THEY ARE CRIMINALS AND TO LEAVE ME ALONE BUT IT DOES NO GOOD. I;M AFRAID TO ANSWER MY PHONE AT WORK I LET IT GO TO VOICE MAIL AND DO NOT CALL THEM BACK , ITS SAD WE HAVE TO GO AROUND SCARED OF THESE IDIOTS

THIS NUMBER KEPT CALLING ME HARRASSING ME AT WORK AFTER I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS LOOKING AT THIS WEBSITE OF THE NUMBER THEM DUPLICATE A INSIDE NUMBER THEN KEPT CALLING. I CONTACTED LOCAL AUTHORITES AND THEY KEPT CALLING!!!! SECRECT SERVICE AND FBI WAS CONTACTED.

I  also get harrassing phone calls from a gentleman with a think middle eastern accent.  He claims to be from the Department of Crime and Justice and if we don't pay this bill (which we still don't know what bill!) they are taking criminal action and putting a lien on our house there will be a sale or seizure on our personal property. He called at 0530 PM,0531PM,0529PM and 0528PM until I took my phone off the hook. (left it on talk). AT&T caller ID showed up as Joshua Milstein. It's a landline in New York,NY. What I want to know is why isn't anyone doing anything about this???? I worked as a collector and there were all sorts of laws that governed us. How can this company keep in business with all these laws being broken??

i just reported that call to the law enforcement last night.

I also receive numerous calls, daily from them. All the same voice, but different names each time. A month ago, they blew up my home phone at least 20 times in a row. Finally my wife answered, said I wasn't home and tried talking to them, and all he did was start "sexually harassing her." After they argued for 30 minutes, and had been hung up on by her many times, and they kept calling back. Finally I got on the line, said I was her brother, and let him know that if he didn't cease and desist immediately, federal charges would be brought against them. He hung up and didn't call back. LOL! I actually cancelled my home phone because of them, so now they just keep bothering me at work. They have been told to discontinue calling me here, but all they say is that they have this number listed as a home number, so they won't remove it!!!!! MORON'S

These %&%$ people have been calling me for over a year now.  All because of a stupid payday loan; but I am going to harrass them just as much as they harrass me! Lets see how they like it.

RECEIVED YET ANOTHER CALL FROM THIS IDIOT HARRASSING ME AT WORK. STATED HE WAS CALLING FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE AND I HAD 30 MINUTES TO CALL HIM BACK. I CALLED BACK AND THE NUMBER DID NOT GO THROUGH. TOLD MY CO-WORKER, I HAD A CLASS A FELONY, HE HAD MY SS# & A FILE# FOR MY CASE.
