Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. - CWG40 replies to ms.thangYou're right. This is a total scam. Originates in either India or Pakistan.

I’m an Enrolled Agent with the IRS (Inactive). IRS does not initiate contacts by phone. US mail only. IRS does not file lawsuits. Court action, if any is handled by the DOJ and all parties are entitled to legal assistance if it is a criminal matter. But--tax disputes are for the most part civil matters. 90% of all IRS tax disputes are settled administratively. IRS has absolutely no authority to call on local law enforcement for anything. Local law is never involved in IRS tax disputes. IRS does not threaten to involve local law enforcement or to arrest you for nonpayment of federal taxes. IRS has no powers of arrest. If LE is necessary, US Marshals do the job. IRS does not cold call anyone and demand immediate payment of money. IRS does not ask for financial information over the phone. IRS does not accept Green card money paks for payment in any case. No one is prosecuted for ordinary tax disputes. IRS has absolutely no authority over anyone's professional license. Professional licensing is handled by state governments. Yes, levies on property to satisfy an existing tax obligation do occur, but only after a very long period of negotiation. And yes, liens are placed on individuals but usually after a lot of negotiation and a failure to reach a settlement. All determinations of tax liability are subject to appeals. All contacts by the IRS are initiated by US mail. - andy and tosha wrightleft phone number to call back

We have discovered some extremely successful methods to stop receiving =all= calls to your phone.
1) If you have a landline, find the phone's drain line that runs from each phone to a socket in the wall. Unplug the drain lines from all your phones, and leave them unplugged for at least three months. During that time, you will receive no irritating calls, as all the numbers flow out of the phone, via the drain system. If you plug in the drain lines after three months, and start to get calls, repeat the solution, but wait six months.
2) If you have a cellular phone (one that works by radio waves), recognize that radio waves do not easily pass through salt water. Try this:
a) Find an unused commode in your house.
b) Remove the big porcelain cover from the "tank".
c) Add two pounds of salt granules
d) Stir well, to dissolve the salt
e) Drop your cell phone in the tank
f) Replace the tank cover
g) Do not flush the tank for one week
This process acts almost immediately. Usually, after a very short time, the cellular will cease receiving calls. As a free added bonus, it will also stop sending calls. However, to be 100% safe, leave the phone in the salt water, and go outside to "do your duty" while the solution works on your phone.

Alternately, to block most irritating calls; obtain a call blocking device, app or service, and learn how to use it. - William PooleI received a call stating that I needed to call the following number (917) 720-3235 immediately, reason claimed the IRS is suing me. Sorry but this smacks of a crank call. The IRS does not place telephone calls like this, if there was any issue with an account you would receive a letter directly from the IRS. With instructions.
- Caller: unknown caller, no name just #
- RonInCocoaHad 2 messages about 3 hours apart stating I was being sued by the IRS and to call them. Scam.
- ericgot same call, couldn't understand caller's thick accent very well...claimed i owed money to IRS..said agent came to door in Jan...said no one was home...
