- Elizabeth| 6 repliesNY number is dead air and then a fast busy signal. Man named Dennis Gray or Graves said to avoid a suit with a federal magistrate call back immediately. Left 2 messages.

- eliz[***] call...never says my name and I own nothing to anybody
- notsojolly| 1 replyUnsolicited call, left a message which is a clear scam complete with threats of federal legal action as Elizabeth said. Heavily accented caller with stilted and staccato non-american english pronunciations. He did leave the same number as his call back number. Message: "This message is intended to contact you. My name is Kenneth Quay and I am calling regarding an enforcement action executed by the US Treasury intending your serious attention. Ignoring this will be an intentional second attempt to avoid initial appearance before a Magistrate, Judge, or a Grand Jury for a Federal Criminal Offense. My number is ... etc I advise you to cooperate with us and help us to help you."
- Caller: unknown Govt Scammer
- BearIn San Diego - same as posted by "notsojolly".
- MichelleMy name is Dennis Quaid/ Gray (has a heavy almost middle eastern accent) I am with the US Treasury and we would like to speak to you about your outstanding tax bill. Do not ignore the phone call. If you do, then you will be standing in front of a US Magistrate Court and potentially be indicted for embezzlement/stealing. (A extremely threatening phone call). Give me a call at 917-775-0021
- Caller: US Treasury
- Call type: Debt collector
- Not Happy, CAThese are the same people who are calling from a number of area codes (LA, Washington DC, New York...) - they threaten legal action on the part of the US Treasury Department - total scam. If you do talk to them, be careful not to engage or tell them you know they are scammers otherwise, they will escalate their efforts.

- Cookie| 2 repliesA man with a slight "british" accent, Dennis Gray leaves a message. Why can't the FEDS stop this type of horrific, disturbing and threatening call? The message is identical to the ones left by the other recipients. I am on a do not call list and still receive garbage like this. It is infuriating. I am in Northern Virginia and this number is a Brooklyn NY area code so it should not be difficult to locate the perpetrator of this scam.
- JoeyDee replies to CookieJust because the caller ID says it's a Brooklyn number is no guarantee of that. In fact, based on the posts that came before yours, it's pretty clear this number is being faked and the caller is probably in India or Pakistan (the accent noted by others is similar to other posts.)
Not possible to locate the callers.
The FEDS have no jurisdiction in India.
The Do Not Call Registry has no jurisdiction outside the US either.
Your best bet is to be wise about the calls: don't answer them; don't ever call back; get a call blocker if you continue to be infuriated. Something about lighting a candle being better than cursing the darkness... - Michele S.Same deal Dennis Gray, heavy accent and enunciation. from US Treasury, blah blah blah.
- Caller: "US Treasury Fake"
- Call type: Debt collector
