- JTB| 3 repliesI received a call from century Claims services 917-831-4434 Chief investigator Chris Baker threatening to have me arrested before the day is out regarding a pay day loan that he claims I took out in 2011. After explaining I never did such a thing this person called my place of employment and told them that they was coming to arrest me if I did not return their call. According to Mr. Baker i had committed a felony by taking out a loan and then closing my account therefore committing fraud 8 times because the agency tried 8 times to collect. The loan was for 500.00 dollars but if I had 3500.00 I could pay them to end the matter or risk being arrested and bonded out for 3500.00. He also stated If i did not have 3500.00 now then I would remain in jail for 90 to 120 days before seeing the judge. I have received scam calls in the past but this time the person went to far by calling my job and causing doubt that I have committed a crime , Which in my case I have a professional job where you can not have any infractions on your record. Not only that but I feel like my privacy because they had a lot of personal information about me has been invaded.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers.

I started to panic but my daughter told me to Google this number and now I see all this
his call to me was exactly like yours and when you call the number back the mailbox name says messages are for August August - LA BaileyI have been receiving calls from this person for weeks but they're asking for someone who I do not know and yet they won't believe me. Today, I called the number back and got this "Chief Baker" who swore the phone number will be removed from their records. The person they are calling and I share a same last name but are in no way related or are known to each other. At least finding this forum helps me combat them if needed. Normally, I don't answer the calls but they're calling almost hourly everyday.

- Vickie replies to JTBI also have received 3 calls from Chief investigator Chris Baker threatening to have me arrested, stating that he has a warrant for my arrest signed by a judge and the judge had recommended 2 years jail time. I have been told by a local detective of whom I inquired about this and found out that a police officer will not call to tell someone there is a warrant out for them, they just go and have you arrested instead.
This has caused a lot of stress for me as this is not the first time I have received calls like this. - VGI also have received 3 calls from Chief investigator Chris Baker threatening to have me arrested, stating that he has a warrant for my arrest signed by a judge and the judge had recommended 2 years jail time.
