Just got a robocall call from "Kevin Mason" (strong Indian accent) stating that this is an attempt to contact me regarding some action with the Treasury department - and that ignoring the message is considered an intentional second attempt to avoid whatever it was. "Kevin" didn't address me by name. The message actually cited that number,

I used Skype to call the number back and got an Indian woman saying "US Department of Treasury, how can I help you?".

Forgot to mention, caller ID said "New York NY".

I just got the same call.  How do they not get arrested for fraud?  These calls scare older people.  Is there anywhere to report this number where they will actually do something about it?  It shouldn't be that hard for some government agency to find out where these people are.

Per whitepages.com, the number is provided by Peerless Network (http://www.peerlessnetwork.com/).  They don't have a specific way to report scam use of their services, but I used their contact form to report to them.

I also reported it at the Treasury Department's web page (supposedly for IRS scam calls, but that was the only place I could find).

I would encourage others to do the same.

In a single morning, I received 2 robocalls from a man with a strong Indian accent, who identified himself as "Kevin Mason" and stated that this is an attempt to contact me regarding some action with the U.S. Treasury Department - and that ignoring the message is considered an intentional second attempt to avoid something. "Kevin" didn't address me by name. The message actually cited that number; I've received this call repeatedly during the last several weeks. I know that no official government communication would be done in this manner and reported it to the FTC (https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/). I'd urge others to file a formal complaint to hopefully push for an official investigation and action.

Today, June 15, approximately 10:30AM PDT garbled message repeated three times, Caller Name in Caller ID: Unknown, Number: 917-932-0014 M (Mobile), strongly accented English with similar message to above. The caller identified himself as "Kevin Mason" and stated that this is an attempt to contact me regarding some action with the U.S. Treasury Department - and that ignoring the message is considered an intentional second attempt to avoid something. "Kevin" didn't address me by name. The message actually cited that number.

Have received no Postal Mail regarding any outstanding issues, have zero financial problems.

Kevin Mason has called me 3 times to day from 917-932-0017. Same as above, he said he is calling from the US treasury dept. How do we get these people to stop calling?

Same thing happened to me yesterday!!  It is a scam!! Please get these people. They are trying to make money off of unsuspecting people!!

Same call from same number. I let my answering machine record the message. The end of the message said " . . .intentional second attempt to avoid appearing before a federal grand jury." Scary. I called them back. The woman who answered also had an Indian accent. She asked me to spell my name. I didn't. I kept asking who the call was from and every time I got the same " federal government" followed by an unintelligible garble. When I asked her why the federal government had such a bad phone connection, she hung up. Maybe a call from India routed through a New York number.

Definitely a scam read this.

I received a call from the same number and the same person called me from the similar number 917-932-0028 too.  This is not a prank call.  It is a scam and harassment call.  They are targeting those people who get scared and contact them then they ask for money from those people.

I received the same call two hours ago from a heavily accented man who identified himself as Kevin Mason at US Treasury. The caller id was from 510-256-0351. This is an obvious scam.

I also got that message - 3 times today.  He left the same message each time.  I tried to call back tonight from a different phone (with caller ID off) and the call did not go through.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

I just received a call from this same guy "Kevin Mason" concerning an issue with the US Treasury.  He also gave the ph# 917-932-0017.  I reported this to the US Treasury using the numbers given by Tamiantha.  These people really need to be stopped.  They are so annoying.

I received the same call from Kevin Mason as stated below, the number was slightly different though 917-932-0018.  I too was not addressed by name.
