I think this is my favorite call of all times!  "Please verify that this is the right number, if it's not, please call and let me know it's not the right number to deliver a legally required notification"  or something like that.  What a hoot!  Yeah, I'll call- wait for it!!!!

If the phone call is for you, then you should expect the call. If it is not, the caller will never know if they have a wrong number until you tell them.

I got the same call today and called the number back.  They were looking for someone named Edward White, which is not me or anyone else that works for my company.  They told me they would take my number "off their list."  We'll see if I get any more calls.

just got the same call... said the same thing about if it was the right number but left no name & about legally required notification... I just ignore them as I owe no bills...

This number keeps calling wont talk to anyone and then calls family or friend members.Harassment want it stopped.

Received a call from this number.  They said that the person who they are looking for is "expecting their call".  The number to call back was a 757 area code that is located in Virginia.  Funny, I didn't expect a call from anyone.  Don't know who they are or what they wanted.

The message they leave says that I'm "expecting their call".  I have no one that I'm expecting to call from a 919 area code. I think it's a scam for sure.  The person's voice on the message is not anyone that I know. And they give a completed different phone number to call back.  I tried calling the number and there was no answer.

They never sent paperwork to fight ID theft like they said they would 6 months ago. Must be bogus.

Debt collector.  (Insert name of random collection agency) on behalf of Cabela's Visa.

Right. "Accidental wrong number" and yet calling everyday. Left voice message saying they are looking for a Candice Pierce and then saying if it's not the right number, I should call them back at some 757 area code to confirm. Felt suspicious. Went to this website and I'm right to be suspicious.

Keep getting calls from various collection agencies all over the country looking for Eric Summers (NOT me). Every time I talk to one of these morons they stop calling from that company and number and another one starts. Telling them all that we have had this number for 15 years and do not know, an have never met Eric Summers.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

Why do you people put up with these calls. All you have to do is block their calls and you won't hear from them again. Be it on you cell phone or on a cordless landline. just block the calling number.

CKS a debt collector calling "to help"

Just started getting a call every couple of days from this number. I let it go to VM because I don't know anyone with a 919 area code. They leave a message saying they were given my number and state that I might not even be expecting their call. Then leave a different number(757-933-1615) to call them back. Sorry I don't call back people who can't say who they are or why they're calling.

I just got this call at 8 pm and they said if this isn't "..." please call to let us back to let us know. It was me they were looking for but under my maiden name and I've been married a 2 years now. Just an FYI.

Some old lady started crying on the phone and then start asking for toilet paper and some jokes as she have not laughed for years very weird call

Yeah right, I've had my phone number for over 27 years, this number is suddenly calling for someone I don't know & never heard of.  I continue to tell them I never heard of that person & don't know them, but  it makes NO DIFFERENCE TO THEM...YOU ARE LYING & THEY KEEP CALLING!
So your suggestion that telling them that the number is wrong only moves your number to the NEXT JERK to call you 45 minutes later ALL DAMM DAY!
