Received a call from this number requesting to press 9 for reduce rate on a current bill.  What's up?

Just got a call from the same number and didn't answer, just left a blank voice mail.

Just received a call from 919-702-0271.  CID was Wireless Caller.  Did not answer.  No message left.

Just got a call from the same number.  I answered and it was an automated message asking me to press 9 to reduce my credit card rates or press 8 to be removed from the list.  Seemed scandalous so I pressed 8.

I got it too.  When I presed 8, I was transferred to some schlub in a boiler room that hung up on me when I asked to be taken off of the list.

I am getting tired of these chumps calling. It is a wothless company phishing for credit card information.

3/29/10 - I didn't answer since I was too tired to. I work night shifts so these idiots woke me up for nothing. I wish there was a way to get rid of them for good. I'm on the 'DO NOT CALL' list, but they just don't care.

After not answering the (919) call, I received a call that I am "prequalified tor reduce my rates" from a number within my own area code.  sneaky.

Just got a call from this number...CID was Wireless Caller...didn't answer, don't know anyone in NC...no message left.

Just got a call from 919-702-0271. Checked the reverse directory for the number and it came back to a cell phone in NC. Checking a reverse directory for cell phones confirmed it was a cell phone but the name of the owner was not public record and would cost $ to find out who it is. This looks and sounds like a scam of some type.

These idiots just called me - did not recognize the number and did not answer. Failed to leave message. Glad I didn't answer

CID Cell Phone  NC  Always let unknowns go to VM.  First time from this number.

No message left on VM.

I answered and it was an automated message saying I should press 9 to reduce interest rates on my credit card (didn't say what credit card) or press 8 to be removed from list.  I was curious since I do not have any credit cards so I pressed 9.  I was told I was selected to reduce my interest rate on my Visa/Mastercard/American Express/Discover card (not a specific card) based on my credit rating which is laughable since I have horrible credit.  This is obviously a scam.

got a call from this # and i didnt answer. Well I have been receiving calls lately and they claim that some guy Victor is in the North Carolina County Jail and he gave them my # to see if I can send him some $ via Western Union. Well I dont know anyone in NC, nor anyone named Victor Padilla or anyone in jail for that matter. Its strange cuz I got another call today from 800-913-6097 and I traced it to the NC jail system. Also got a local call today from a Vanessa Gonzales in Los Angeles @ 323-737-3402 and I did speak to her and told her that this is my cell and I dont know anyone by that name nor in jail. Im sure this is some sort of scam or something.

i got a call from the same number and actually talked to someone.  Man they know just what to say to get info from you.  Anyway i lucked out. i didn't have any of my credit card info on me at the time (thank god) but it wasn't 'till later that i realized he didn't have ANY of MY info already either, for confirmation purposes.  I did all the talking.  I think this kinda strange now.  If he wanted to lower my credit rate on my cards 'cause i've made all my payments on time, you'd think he'd have some of my info already.  Well i'm an idiot but i guess my luck was good 'cause i don't think they got anything important from me. I am going to watch my accounts real well though, just in case. Please if you get a call from this number don't fall for it.  The more i think on it the more i know its a scam.

Don't know who it was. I screen my calls because of all of the telemarketers that call me and I am on the do not call list. The caller ID on this number was "out of area". If these companies are not honest enough to put there name on the caller ID then they are not honest enough to talk to me!
