This company is calling continuously leaving messages for someone I don't know. This is the transcript of their message: "This is a message for ****. If you are **** continue to listen to this message. If you are not ****, disregard this message or hang up immediately. By continuing to listen to this message you acknowledge that you are ****. This is Absolute Collection Service, Inc., this call is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for this purpose."

The above is true, and if you hang on the line they say "please hold for a customer service rep".  If you hold, you will be put on hold for several minutes, which is crazy.  They are calling ME, why should I have to hold?

I keep getting a from this number and a recording says " this call is for (my nama). I this is (my name) please press 0 and hold.

I think it's a sacm to get me to open my line for an operator to use me to make long distance calls, prehaps international via my phone service and my billing.

No ligitamite caller would use this tatic It a SCAM FOR SURE!!! BEWARE

The message says our phone number is 1-800-752-4172.  It does not say who the message is for.  I get it over and over.

always calling my daughters pre-paid cell phone.. continually leaving a message for someone I never heard of. I had called and asked them 13 times now to take this number off the list.. they ASSURED me that it would be taken care of.. guess what..got another call today! I am reporting them to the BBB and the next time they call I will press charges!

They now call themselves PSS... they do not explain what it means. They have left a message on my answering machine, and when I try to call them, it's busy.

This message asks for (name) and then tells the person that if they are not (name) to hang up.  I found it shady because it was an automated message.

Absolute Collection Service (ACS) is a collection agency for Duke University Health System, REX, and I'm not sure what else. Their number is 800-752-4172 / 919-755-3900 if you want to call them back.

I have been getting phone calls from this number for MONTHS.  Just as the other comments, they say if this is "name" press X, if this is not "name", press X, then when I press the prompted number stating it is NOT the person they are calling for, I am put on INFINITI HOLD.  For crying out loud!! If THEY are the ones calling ME, they should be there and ready to talk to ME!  I AM NOT holding for anyone rude enough to call me and not be there!  I do not know how to get them to stop calling my cell phone.  If anyone knows of some type of legal action that can be taken, please advise.  I am on the Do Not Call Registry, apparently of no importance.

Darren Crutchfield please start paying your bills. I am a tired of getting phone calls asking for you. Every other week there is another collection agengy trying to chase you down. From now on I am going to begin claiming that I am you and start to mess with your life.

Recording asking for "Joseph Detura"

They are trying to contact a person and leave a message for them on my phone.  They say in their recording if I am not that person then I should hang up.  If I stay on the line I am acknowlidging that I am that person.  Well.. this is my phone, they are calling me.. and infact they are in violation of the Fair debt and collection practices act by leaving this kind of message

I am not sure where to report it, but I know these kind of calls are in violation of the Fair Debt and Collection practices act.  They are divulging private information to a 3rd party and this is illegal.  If I find where to report it I will put up a posting.  But if nothing else, I would think either the local Bar Association for Attorneys in your area would know who to report it to, or the Better Business Bureau should have information.

I received a call on my cell phone from this number (919-821-1799) a few weeks ago, but did not answer and no message was left. I just got another call from this number and answered. The recording did the whole "This call is for (my name). If this is (my name) press 0, if this is not (my name) hang up." I pressed 0 thinking maybe it was one of my doctor's offices trying to get me to confirm an appointment I have coming up, but then it rang and range and eventually someone answered which I could not understand what they were saying so I hung up. If this is a debt collection company, they are trying to scam people because I do not have any debts!! I will be checking my credit report immediately because one of my credit cards was compromised last year, and maybe someone tried again.

They called really early on Saturday morning and asked for someone and I hung up on them

i have been getting the same call from 919 821-1799. they will not stop calling.no messege was left.

I have been receiving calls from this number several times.  It says you have a message and have to click on a certain number.  Usually, I delete these calls, however, I was expecting someone to call me so I answered they said they had a message and I cannot remember the number I had to click on to get the message.  Then it just buzzes and there is no message.

Calls and asks for erson living in house, then asks you to hold but no one ever comes on the line

tried to call ACS.  They wanted my SS# to 'look me up [not a chance !]  They claimed they did not use that number 919-821-1799.
Call Block may be my only way to stop the calls.
