    A new number from payday loan scammers.  This is the 3rd number this week they are calling me from.  The same crap about charges filed against me in my county.  OMG they are sick people that will never stop.  The crime unit called the last number and they did not care and were rude.  Nothing stops them.  Ignore and delete.  They also got a hold of my new home number.  Criminals for sure.

    BE AWARE!

    Unfortunately nothing makes them stop.  they just keep changing numbers.  tell your daughter not to get scared and ignored them.  you can always get a phone to block their numbers to a black list from your home line.  they are idiots and will continue to harrass you until you call them back and pressure you into paying something you do not owe.  i am so use to them calling and i just ignore.

    A crime unit investigator called them and ask them to stop harrassing me but they continue to call.  they were calling from a 318 area code first and now this number  9209654084.  if i see the number i hang up on them.

    scammers for sure.  check the FTC for scam calls and continue to report or ignore.  i am writing this to inform anyone getting calls from this number so you can ignore.  I believe it is ACS Legal.

    The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

    •is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
    •refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
    •asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
    •exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

    If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:

    •Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
    If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.•Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
    •Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft – charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.
    •Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
    •Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.

    These people keep calling, we have been retired for many years, thanks to my son telling me about these CROOKS, I already knew not to be afraid, ,they say they are going to my place of employment, that's a joke. They also said if I didn't pay right away the sheriffs department would deliver my summons, I hung up, theN received a call from guess what, the sheriffs office, I said , ok I will get right back to you, then I called our sheriffs office which consists of about 5 people, they said they did not call, that somehow they can call like that SO DONT TRUST THEM THEY ARE CROOKS.

    Just happened to me, within the last five minutes.  I guess they think a man's voice makes the message even more threatening and authoritative.  I equate these scum-sucking vermin with child molesters and serial killers, people that prey on the innocent and vulnerable.  I hope whomever (or whatever, as the case may be) is behind this crap get caught and never see the light of day ever again.  Kidnapping someone and crossing state lines used to be a capital offense...why not this, too?  Gad, I despise these people!!
