Robo-call must be in process - I got a call with no message 14 minutes after @Ben.  (Hang up when my answering machine picks up.)

I receive a phone call the said that collect money for cancer society.  they need a credit card but  i said send the information in the mail. It shame that used the Cancer Society Name.

Phone rang at 8:10 PM, it it looked like a solicitation ("Breast Cancer"), so I didn't pick up. No message. I wouldn't have given them money anyway, because I am against cancer.

I got the same call about Breast Cancer about 15 minutes ago.

Caller ID showed "Breast Cancer S" and I let it go to the answering machine and they hung up.  I was waiting for results from my doctor for a mammogram recently done and it's scary to see "Breast Cancer" show up on your Caller ID falsely making me think it could be negative results from my doctor.  I am on the Do Not Call List and should not be receiving any telemarketer calls.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. God bless you and I pray your results are fine. I just got a call from them too and I had the same thoughts as you. I spend a lot of time at the doctor's and I couldn't remember if I recently had a test or not.

Blocking this... Sad as the play on heart strings. Anymore I cant stand the phone. I answer all calls and anymore 99.9% are bloodsucking parasites with a credit card machine; Level 2 communications.... How did they get our name on a private unlisted line?  Hilariously the caller read on the VoIP server reads " Discount Center" So when you get your CC statement you will think it is normal charge since obummer has all of us shopping at them....

I just picked up the call by accident. A woman was asking donation to "Breast Cancer Society". She first wanted me to donate $25, after I said no she changed to $15. Then I told them I don't donate through the phone, Then she hang up. Sounds like a scram to me.

You were witnessing something worse than Robo Calling.  You were almost victimized by ROBO RESPONDING!

That call you got was NOT from a human being. I believe it is a computer that is generating responses based on what you say!  The voice responding is probably a human voice. What I think what is being done is the computer has pre-recorded hundreds of responses using that voice.

Then based on how you answer, a response is automatically generated! You think you are talking to a human being who is actually there, but you are actually talking to a robo responder.

The reason this is so horrible is that it is Robo calling on steroids since no humans are being paid to call you!  This will turn into one of the biggest consumer scams ever in the next couple of years and there may be no way to stop it!

They keep calling.  Finally answered and say nothing.  Just hung up.

Great post. I have gotten a couple of those "robo responding" calls. They were weird. When I figured it out, I just hung up. I'll check out your blog.

Yes i got the same exact call myself. Went to their website just for the heck of it and it wouldn't even load.....I personally donate to LEGITIMATE charities such as the American Cancer Society. Don't give these people a dime, especially over the phone. Always make your donations in person and make sure you get a receipt so you can take the deduction on your taxes. If you don't recognize a number let the machine get it.

Do Not Call does not apply to Non-Profit groups.

However, if you tell them to cease calling you, they MUST remove your name/number from their list and any further violations can be reported.

Good info in the comments on this site. These types of calls just keep coming. Since August of last year I've received over 100 telemarketer calls from various phone numbers. Several from some claiming to be from  American Cancer Research. Never give out any financial or personal information over the phone to telemarketers.
I own a Digitone 10 Call Blocker and it's worth it's weight in gold! Blocks up to 80 numbers at the touch of a button. Once a number is blocked, the next time that number comes up on the caller I.D., the phone makes a quiet beep and hangs up on the caller.

I just got a call less than five minutes ago. Total bogus the second they started getting pushy on donating at least $20. They hung up on me. So not cool.

Called.  I didn't answer.  They didn't leave message.

they called a few minutes ago since I was expecting an important call and on the computer at the same time I "robo answered"  a womans voice ask for my husband by name ~he takes all personal calls on his cell{different number}  I ask who was calling "her" response was that she was actually looking for either of us and stared her spiel I told her good by and hung up
