Caller did not leave message. Anyone speak to this number? Who are they?

They just called me, 8pm EST, but as I was on the other line, couldn't answer. Would also be grateful to know the identification.

Got a call from this number too but didn't answer... Anyone find out who it is?

They called. Left no message.

It's registered to MCI WorldCom.

They called me and they said they had the wrong number.

Received a call from 925-298-6083 this morning.  My phone was off.  Got a new voice message, about five seconds of dead air.  Did not identify their self.  I have no clue what it's about, but from the other posts, it seems it's a problem others are having, too.

Got a call from this number at 5:15 pm on Saturday.  Phone in purse, did not get to it in time.  Did not leave message.

Caller left no message.

I also got a call from them and they immediately said "Sorry, wrong number." as well.

Got a call from this number, female voice on the other end immediately said had a wrong number.

Just got a call from this number. They left no message.

So this is a pest that keeps calling!

The same happened to me 5 minutes ago.  A female speaker with accented English apologized for having the wrong number.

Called from Lafayette CA. 925-298-6038 no message, I don;t answer the cell and wait to see who it is. My house is under water so I don't answer the phone without looking to see who it is. What a life.

I also got a call from this number and when I answered and said hello, they immediately said "Sorry, wrong number, bye".  Like how do they know they have the wrong number if all I said was hello lol.  Is there a way to block this and other unwanted calls?  Thanks!

I think if you answer, they know it is an attended line and now you will get more calls.
If it goes to a voice mail or a machine, they will also continue to call.

"Phishing" for valid phone numbers

I only answer numbers I recognize, and if  they don't leave a message, they aren't worth speaking to anyway.

I am not sure who this is but I am sure it is a scam

I got a call from this number, 925-298-6038, too. From Lafaytte, California. A female voice on the other end immediately said she had a wrong number. Story sounds familiar.
