Called me and did not leave a message when I did not answer.

I called back using a different number and it would not put the call through.  Informed me I must call from the number they called me on.

I called from my cell phone (number they called) and they wouldn't no identifiy themselves when they answered.  I had it on Mute/Speaker AND would not say anything.  They got frustrated and hung up.

I blocked them from calling my cell phone number on Sprint's Website.

caller said they were from the United States of State Police Association, I hung up.

Recorded call from "Robert" from Community Service Company (yeah, right).  Said they are fundraising for State Troopers (yeah, right again).  I hung up & reported it on the Do Not Call website.  It's a pain but I report every single telemarketing call I get; I still get some but a lot less than I used to before I started reporting them.

If your not going to answer the phone or leave a message to sell something. Why are you paying for the phone and the people to call. Don't get it.

YOU GUYS. When a number you don't recognize calls your phone, DON'T ANSWER IT. When you answer it, you signal to the telemarketers and scammers that they have a "good" number, and they will sell that information to other scammers. This will results in even more unwanted calls. It's the same thing when you press a key to be removed from a list. These people are unscrupulous and scammers. What makes you think pressing a button will actually remove you from a list? Again, they now know that you answer the phone and will call unknown numbers back, and they will sell your phone number to other scammers. NEVER ANSWER AN UNKNOWN NUMBER. If it is important, THEY WILL LEAVE A VOICEMAIL.

Your best defense is to simply block the number in your phone.

Called my cell phone and caller ID says Flagstaff, AZ. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't know nor do I know anyone in Flagstaff. Called the number back from a different phone and the recording stated "in order to put your call through please call back from the number we called you on" obviously not important enough to leave a message. I blocked the number. Losers

Thank god there is someone sane here. Everyone should google "phreaking" just to see how the telephone system works and how these auto dialers work.
