When you call (929) 239-42444 a recorded message for City Power & Gas - Bronx, NY comes on. They appear to be some type of energy reseller. They call my business and all I hear is people in the background. Their calls are annoying. When you search that company name online the below comes up (they seem to be based in Arizona NOT the Bronx). Who knows what their deal is or if this is a legit reseller? :

Got a call from (929) 239-4244 and no messagae was left. I was surprised since my number is a the "Do not call list". Is the "do not call list" no longer enforced ?????

Got a call this morning. I didn't answer. they left no message. I blocked them with my call blocker.

Got a call from them this morning on my business line and they asked to speak with whoever is responsible for my National Grid bill.  They told me I have a notice on my power bill and they want to talk to me about it.  See, my business does not have a power bill, so that was kind of a signal to me that the guy was lying.  I told him as much and we ended the call there.

I was busy with something, was in a noisy environment, and couldn't clearly hear the name of his company, so I apologize that I can't include that information here.

I got a call. They did not leave a voice message. I blocked the call thanks to everyone on this site thank said it was a call center.

Received a message to call Jessica at this number, ext. 180 regarding our Con Edison payments. They wanted us to return their call with a current bill in hand to talk about a 'notice.'

I spoke with Con Edison about this, it seems that this and similar scams to get us to change our energy supplier are common. Doing so could result in penalties if you are currently under an energy contract.

Won't stop calling atleast 3 times a day at our business- when I answer no one there

I've gotten 7 calls in a row from this number!! Annoying!!! They left an unintelligible voice message, male voice with very thick accent. Repeated number to call back. I didn't call. Trying to block the number.

They called me several times but finally left a message.  They portray themselves as ConEd and asked me to have a bill handy along with account number.  No way and I would suggest not giving them any info.

i work with city power and gas we are qualified energy supply company  who is helping customers with a saving and  making sure they are not  paying high mark up price. we are not a scam. you should listen to what we are telling you  so you would understand about what you really pay every month on your supply charge

So you are saying you are not an employee of "city power and gas" ?
Are you a telemarketer working in a call center contracted by "city power and gas" to make these calls ?

I would think that a utility would expect someone that works for them to have a better education than you obviously have.  Now a scammer trying to pretend to be a utility would probably hire you in a minute.

I would listen to what you have to say, if you actually answered the call. I pick up and NO ONE is there!

The DO NOT CALL LIST has never been enforced. To many loopholes in the law.

Same [***] as described above.  Unprofessional male leaving message re: gas and electric account.  Gives no info as to his company, but then again I stopped answering my phone a long time ago. The DNC list is a joke.
