I just got a call at my house do you know what it is?

Received a call today from 929-250-0864. I answered without checking source. Heavy.-accented gentleman claiming to be Lonnie Williams with Dept. of Health calling to let me know that they had a check for me. I said "no thank you" - "not interested" and hung up. I checked another site for complaints and found that the call originates from Vancouver Island, B.C. And that it's listed as belonging to Telus and has been marked as a telemarketer. My phone's "caller list" indicates they had called yesterday, as well.

A heavily accented man calling himself Jack Williams called from 929-250-0864 asking for my daughter by name claiming to be calling from U.S. Dept. of Medical Compensation and wanted me to take down his number and have her call.  When I asked what it was regarding he repeated the same U.S. Dept.....blah, blah...and told me to have her call.  I told him that I took down his name and number but would be checking him on the internet because I did not believe it to be a U.S. Government call and would report him as fraudulent.  I plan to try to find a place to do so as well as here.

I received a call today from a man with a heavy accent saying he was from the department of Health and Human Services, and I qualified for reimbursement from surgery. He asked for information. I refused and hung up. Very disturbing.

My wife got a call from 929-250-0864 this evening.  I answered her phone for her and got this guy with a serious foreign accent.  Said he was from Health and Human Services,  if I understood him correctly.  I asked to talk to his supervisor and he got him,  but it sounded like the same guy.   I tried numerous times to get him to tell me what the phone number was that he was calling from and he blatently would not tell me.  He said that if I didn't like the calls I should just hang up.  Finally I told him if he didn't like dealing with me he should just hang up.  He hung up.  

I received a call from this number today. I didn't answer but Caller ID identified it as coming from Brooklyn, NY.

I received a call from the same heavily accented gentleman.  Said he was from the US Department of Health.  When I asked if this had something to do with Obamacare, he repeated he was from the US Department of Health. I asked him a second time if this had anything to do with Obamacare and he hung up.

I also received a call from this number and when I answered it, nobody answered.  They just hung up.  I am on the Do Not Call Registry, but it doesn't seem to matter.  I still received unwanted calls!

received my second call this week from this number - both times an East Indian accent (male and female) claimed to be with the Department of Health with "medical information'.  When I confronted them that the Government does NOT call individuals, they began arguing with me.  I demanded they take my number off their call list -

I receive numerous phone calls from this number. I say I am not interested in what they are selling but they continue to call. I have caller ID and it's always the same...

I've reported this as well as another on  donotcall.gov.  We've been registered there since 2007, but don't know what good it does, but you can register complaints there.

Usually the guy asks for me by name and wants to talk about my 'windows' computer.  This time it was the medical stuff.  Now that xp is dead, perhaps they've changed tactics..  I gave him quite a tongue lashing.  Of course his supervisor wasn't there.  He calls about twice a week, from different number, all with northeastern cities on the Id.  Same man all the time.  Oh and he always makes a point that he is calling from the USA.

I did call back and got the wallmart certificate thing, but no one answered.

Yeah right.. Epic fail shill. These kind of calls are 100% scams..

The complaints filed with the DNC are a database for all agency's to use. The DNC itself is also a database which keeps the honest company's honest.  You can also file direct complaints with the FTC and FCC.,as well as the CFB.

Consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

My response:  I really would like to discuss this with you, but I'm at work and cannot talk on my cell phone.  Can you please call me back...and then I give them the number of the complaint line for the FTC.

Scam alert!!! They called my father's cell...by the way he died 2 months ago. Heavly accented guy said I qualified for money. when I explained to him that he was calling a dead person's number he continued to run his spiel and said "I qualified also'' when I asked him what my last name was..no answer. When I tried to call the number... it's a non working number. I really wanted to record him.  Dang I needed some Entertainment.
