Received a text from this number asking for photos to "show Santa what they want for christmas."

For a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.

Do not respond to unwanted texts or emails from questionable sources. Several mobile service providers allow you to forward unwanted texts by simply texting it to 7726 (or "SPAM") to block the sender. Check with your  provider about other options.

Use a "junk mail" or "spam" email filter.

It is interesting to note that I have received two other texts from different numbers using a similar format and uncomfortable, sexual tones.

Each time, I block them. Each time, they text with another number. Now I see they use a different name each time. Sounds like a scam to me.

I got a text along with some other friends saying it was my friends mom and that she committed suicide. She is known to be very suicidal. I have no clue how this person knows us and our numbers and bout this being we don't talk publicly about this. My friend is very much fine and I texted her this morning and she's alive and fine. If anyone has an contact info on this number please let me know

They first prank called me And ask if I masterbate. I told them I'm going to go now and they said, "you know as well as I do". I said "alright. Good bye" and hung up. Then they text me and asked the same question
