Got a call from this number on 03/20/14-- this person pretended to be a cousin of my mother's - my mother hadn't talked to her in a long time so she assumed it was her. Was told they were coming to visit our city and that they'd be coming in to the nearest airport. Later they called back asking for money due to an issue in immigration.. two individuals were involved in this scheme --- my mother realized what they were trying to do and hung up. Be careful!

Same thing happened to us on 3/25/14. My dad answered and the person was calling my dad 'tio' (uncle) and said that she would be flying into town the next day and would be calling between 10 and 11. We were a bit confused and concerned because she mentioned a city that some of our family reside in. Thanks for the previous post. We now know how to handle appropriately.

This just occurred to my grandmother, they took advantage of her and took her money.  She received a call from a  female person saying this was her niece Celia. My grandmother elderly lady didn't realize the scheme and fell in this trap. Please people watch out for this number spread the word. Lets work together so this doesn't happen to someone else's grandmother and grandfather or ANYONE else.

Same story happened on July 4th to our elderly couple about their daughter being stuck at the airport and she needed money to get back home.

Same thing happened to us, only difference is that they gave us our home address.  They new all of our family names.  Recently my brother passed away and they new about that too. The guy pretended to be one of our cousins who didn't show up to my brothers funeral.  My dad can recognize his nephews voice anywhere and the caller who claimed to be his nephew was false. My dad quickly called his nephew and found out that the guy calling was a phoney. He told us he was coming from El DF he was in TJ coming to the Ontario airport.  The next time he called my dad told him the gig is up who are you and he hung up and we haven't heard anything since.  

My grandmother was just called (08/2/14)  by this person and spoke to her since she refused to let my mom or I answer. She tried to be one on my grandma's nieces calling her "tia" (Spanish for aunt) however once my mom noticed my grandma didn't recognize the caller's voice (which is very odd) she made signs to not give out information about our family, however my grandma still did and start asking questions like "I don't remember you, where you do you live? Are you a daughter of Monica's?" yet all this frad did was say "Grandma, come on don't you remember me? Try to remember me?" Of course once my grandma asked to many questions she just hung up. Thank goodness we have caller ID and I was able to read these comments, really helped knowing I'm not the only one!

Pretenden ser miembros de tu Familia y te dicen que vendran a verte. Que te traen regalos, etc. Despues que ellos te hablaran para informarte cuando llegaran... despues que ya estan llegando a la Frontera... y el TOQUE FINAL que los detuvieron en la Aduana y que NECESITAN DINERO.....Alguna gente mayor, o gente Tonta o gente Inocente ha caido. MUCHO CUIDADO CON ESTOS RATEROS que no hacen NADA mas que TRATAR DE TIMAR a la gente. Chequen con los miembros que les dicen que son parientes, MUCHO CUIDADO. Cuando les tratas de HABLAR POR TELEFONO NUNCA CONTESTAN.
