Against my better judgement I decided to go along with the offer from this company, The Publishers Sweepstakes Center, and to my surprise they did everything they said they would do. The deal is you are entered in to a 1 million dollar sweepstakes, you pay for shipping on one weekly magazine ($2.88) for a 2 year service, and you get 2 monthly magazines along with it for free. I also received a mini-vacation for participating and it was great. They do take all the money out as one lump sum of $276.00 which I was not real thrilled about but it is donated to the United Charity Association for battered and abused women and children and is tax deductible. I am very satisfied with this company and what they are doing for the women and children.

I had a call from this number and went with the deal to see if it was a scam and they did follow through with everything. There are a lot of scams out there but this is not one of them. I for one was glad to help out the charity as I do so many others.

I received the same call and went with the program to see what is was all about. I got the packet in a timely fashion with my vacation in it. Everything seems to be fine as far as I can tell. They may have been working from home, I checked into it and the company does do that. They do hire people to call from home on their behalf.  I got my first magazine today (after the full 10 weeks they say it might take) and I'm satisfied that the company is not a scam. To those of you that are claiming they are a scam.... did you even give them a chance?

I received a phone call from Rebecca saying she was calling to tell me that she represented the
Publishers Sweepstakes Center.  She was informing me that as a preferrred customer I had been entered in a pool for a drawing.  The amount: $25,000.  The date of the drawing:  12/27/2011
She verified my address and said I would be receiving a diamond watch [ diamond at the 12 o'clock point.
She then said I was qualified to receive 3 magazines for a year.  I declined that offer and told her I didn't want to subscribe to any magazine. She said she was going to connect me to the magazine office and I could tell them that.
When that "office" came on line they immediately disconnected me.

I keep receiving 3 calls a day (excluding weekends) from an unknown #. I finally answered and they say they are the Publishers Sweepstakes Center who I never heard of, talking about putting my name in this drawing. They didn't sound professional at all. How did they connect my name with this number?  I don't know but I think its a scam that I wouldn't dare fall for. I answered again and ask who they were and they hung up on me. SCAM written all over it. Don't let these companies fish for your info. You might get caught.

I just got a call today Jun 21/12 from Publishers Sweepstake Centre. It was hard to understand the lady on the phone, but she said I was the lucky person who won $25, 000, and that I would get a watch in the mail.  I kept asking how did you get my number, and then she finally said that My Visa shows that I'm a preferred customer... And kept interrupting me while I was trying to find out more about the company.  She then verified my address, which I have no clue on how they found out! Very oddd. Then saying that she was going to get me a 36 month free subscription to a magazine.  I refused.  And told her I needed to research more about this company online, or whatsoever.  Apparently they are situated in Montreal, QC.

I have also been getting unknown calls that just hang up on me.  It might be them, but I dont like it.  This is a Cell and its not even in the YellowPages so I dont know how on earth they got my number...The lady's name on the phone was "Victoria Jenson"

Also the phone number it came from was 1-704-307-4981 from Charlotte, NC.  Guess she lied about the Montreal, QC location!

The number comes up as 647-863-2505 and they say are in Montreal QC but 647 is an Ontario area code.

She told me the same thing that my credit card company gave them my number.

These phone calls are still being made. I received a call today. They get your information if you have a subscription to a magazine with a credit card. They knew my information because of my subscription to Cosmopolitan. I am not happy with either Visa or Cosmopolitan for giving out this information and I just had 10 minutes of my time wasted.

If your credit card company gave out your personal info to a third party it is because you gave them permission. Likely it was in the fine print when you agreed to it.

I was getting multiple calls from an unknown number on my cell during the day, I was home from work one day and answered the phone, I was immediately told that I had won a diamond watch and was entered into a draw. I questioned the girl on where they got my name number and address. They said it was from Mastercard or VISA. I questioned them on this and they said it was legit and I said that my next call was to the credit card companies. When I called both mastercard and VISA they verified that they under no circumstances give out their customers information. Then Mastercard asked if I had been trying to make a transaction in excess of $4000. I don't know how they got the information but they did, if they call again I am reporting it to the police. This is a scam. The lady I spoke with said her name was Shelly Shutt

I just recieved a call, saying I was being entered to win $25000. I asked where they got my name, they said it was from the publishers, Visa or Mastercard and my name was given as a preferred customer. They requested my year of birth to confirm putting my name in. I asked for their website address a couple of times to check their company, I was told to search for 'Publishers Sweepstakes Center' then was told I would not be entered into the contest and hung up on.
