Dead silence when I picked up the phone.

Comes up as "Unknown", says he's calling regarding the police and troopers funds.. I hung up. Never should have answered the phone.

no vm, no message, no answer, don't care.  Service area is Punta Gorda Fl. and the communication company that supplies this number is Daystar Communications.  I have had other Daystar area junk calls in the past.

Phone ring, no body talks to my recorder, I don't talk to them.

Caller is soliciting donations for Fl State Troopers. This is the 15th phone number used for this purpose. Other phone numbers used: 561-203-9983; 813-413-4999; 813-444-5672; 407-505-6426 (spoofed); 941-462-1008; 239-324-9740; 305-602-3079; 941-205-0061; 239-243-9481;239-220-5920; 239-220-5918; 813-337-6414; 813-444-5677 (spoofed); 407-792-0369.

941-205-0245 calls several times per day & I am sick & tired of all this nonsense.  DoNotCall list obviously is non-functional and has been for a long long time.

Put the blame where it really lay's, with the criminals and illegal telemarketers.
The DNC works just fine. It is for telemarketers only and honest business does indeed abide by it. It is the criminals (which includes illegal telemarketers), frauds and scammers that do not. However, the Fed. DNC does not cover some survey's, Political or Charities.  You would need to check your states DNC laws to see if these are under your states DNC laws.  The fact remains that they are not automatic call blockers though and can not protect you from the calls that are criminal, illegal or fraudulent.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone..  You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

I got a call from this number but I did not answer. If I had answered as soon as they said they wanted money, I would have said, "I am not interested", and hung up.  Local law enforcement has suggested I not donate money to people who call on the phone to solicit it. That makes sense too. After all, the reason that the dog barks at the mailman is because it works. The mailman goes away.

Same scenario as when I originally posted the number. However if it is indeed the police trying to obtain money (like others have said) then they,  along with others are exempt from abiding to the rules of the DNC.  Our worst offenders are Politicians, and Charities.  Why can't we just have a DNC list for EVERYONE.......and forget about exemptions.
