Claim to be associated with some legal company. They had info from 10 years ago and came up with some story about how a loan was taken out and never paid and they need to settle it. Only issue is they knew nothing and the business the loan was taken from turned out to be a pharmacy that has not been in business since 2004. Once I requested them to mail me info and proof, they were very agressive and pushy in saying well this is old and needs to be taken care of soon. I told them I am sorry but I am not doing anything without proof and then they just asked for an email and have not heard from them since.

This is a scam trying to collect money that is not owed to them.  They have hacked data bases from online payday loan in the past.  They refuse to give information and are trying to collect information from you.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.  I have reported them to the FCC and Federal Trade Commission.  This is willful harrassment and they should be stopped.  Sometimes they use the name Allied.

    calls from these numbers

wants you to call back to 9412518161 division of processing, wants "you or your legal council" to call them, or press 1 to speak to a rep now..guess what pressing 1 doesnt work.

so i call them, quote the FDCPA, FCRA and arkansas statue 4-3-118 to them. they claim the debt is from 2004...

    1. Ask them for an address to send a request for copies of debt in writing to, " thats against our policy" FDCPA says you ahve the right to a copy of the original debt in writing , it has to be provided within 5 days of them recieving the request for it.

    2. Look up our states statue of limitations. in arkansas its 5 years on written and oral contracts

    3. Look up your states wiretap laws, if you state only requires one active party to the conversation to know its being recorded, record them.

    4. save their number, most smart phones allow you to send calls directly to voicemail if you save the contact, its the only sure way to block them

    5. Dont assume the do not call registry will stop them, obviously they care as much about the law as, well they don't..thus they are trying to scam you.

    6. file reports/complaints with your states AG office, teh FBI's IC3 , the FCC and homeland security. They wont be able to do much, but its more for your records than anyone elses

    7. text the number that called you, if the text goes through the call came form a cell phone, land lines cant get text. let them know your smarter than they are

    8. finally, have some fun with them..hey if tehy are going to harrass you..harrass them back i say!

    beyond that..just keep blocking them.

Got a voicemail msg from 219-281-3385 which was directed at my deceased husband. Their instructions were to have me or our legal counsel call 941-251-8161 to make a statement. I never answer calls from numbers I do not recognize. And I definitely never answer messages when they do not identify themselves or their specific reason for calling. It's a scam or a bill collector.

Message was left on my office telephone number claiming that I needed to call this number back. They also said a claim had been made against me, naming me as "Respondent." They have called several times, and have called my parents and my brother. They refuse to provide me with any real details-- they just want me to set up a payment plan. When I tell them I am an attorney, they insult me and claim that I am a liar (despite telling them that they can just go to the state bar website and enter my name and obtain my details). PLEASE do not pay these people anything.  This is a SCAM.

scam - calling cell phone - and a number that has been in use over 50 years - never has been a CLARENCE (Sanderson)or  ANDERSON at the number - ever. Not even right last name and number was published until recently. They did absolutely no due diligence. This is a robo call - Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). The TCPA provides wide protection against robocalls, calls using automatic dialers, and automated messages. For the most part, the TCPA comes into play when debt collectors make collection calls to consumer cell phones. If a debt collector makes impermissible robocalls to a consumer’s cell phone, the debt collector is liable for $500 per call. If it can be proven that the calls are willful, the damages are $1,500 per call. ,,,,,,,,,Once a debt collector knows they have called the wrong party, they have to stop calling. If you receive a debt collection phone call for someone else, and you tell the debt collector that you are not that consumer, they should stop calling.  The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) expressly regulates calls to third parties in section 15 U.S.C. 1692b(3), stating that a debt collector shall “not communicate with any such person more than once unless requested to do so by such person or unless the debt collector reasonably believes that the earlier response of such person is erroneous or incomplete and that such person now has correct or complete location information.”  Further, it is impossible to tell them to stop, because the numbers they use will not take incoming calls.
