I received a call from this number by someone with a thick accent.  We monitor all calls and I listened through it twice after hearing and not understanding the first call.  The call referred to an accident, but came from the San Diego area and I have not been there in years.  I do not want to call back if this is a scam!

I also received a call from this number with a very thick accent.  He left a message stating he was with the department of legal affairs and that I should contact him immediately.  Gave no reason as to why.  This call came from Southern California.  Sounds definitely sounds like a scam to me.

I also received a call from the number today with very thick accent.  Although the origin of my call was San Juan, Costa Rica, somewhere I have never been.  Informing me of a legal action against me and threatening me if I didn't call back it would turn it into a "legal mess" for me.

Just received a call from this male who says I should get my lawyer to call him or else I will get into bigger legal mess. That's all no firm or case number given. No incident about what this is about is given.  I think it sounds like a scam. Plus I have never received papers through the mail or have been served with anything. On radio, tv and other media outlets they are warning everyone to watch out for people who are very shady and call you about trying to settle something out of court if you send them money. They are from all over the world scaming. This guy sounds accent his very thick that I only understood half his message and I played it twice. Not to be mean, but scammers your accent gives it away.

Same as the previous remarks,thick accent ,Claiming to be U.S treasure Legal,and a Legal mess and asking me for my bank account numbers.Somebody needs to go to Jail here.

These are criminal extortionists operating in overseas boiler rooms in apathetic and corrupt third world countries using VOIP to alter their identities and locations and out of the reach of US law enforcement.

If someone calls saying he's an IRS agent and demands that you send money immediately, hang up.
It's a phone scam.In fact, it tops the IRS "Dirty Dozen" list of tax scams this year, and it's been surging in recent months, the agency said Thursday.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), which oversees the IRS, has received reports of 290,000 scam calls since October 2013 and said nearly 3,000 victims have been swindled out of $14 million so far.

By altering their caller ID number to make it look like they're calling from an IRS office, these scammers often threaten vulnerable people like the elderly and new immigrants with things like arrest, deportation or the loss of their driver's license if they don't pay immediately for money purportedly owed.

Often leaving messages that say it's "urgent" you call them back, the scammers use common names and sometimes say they are from the IRS Criminal Division. They may even claim to know the last four digits of your Social Security number and send follow-up emails that appear to be from the IRS, TIGTA said.

They often demand that payments be made by prepaid debit card.

Once they make their threats, the scammers have been known to call back and again disguise their caller ID so it appears they are calling from the police department or the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).

Or sometimes when they call, they may say you have a refund due and ask you to provide personal information so you can claim it.

The real IRS will usually contact you by regular mail first, if it needs to contact you at all. And the agency never demands immediate payment by phone or asks for credit card or debit numbers if they do call. It also never asks for personal or financial information by email, text or social media.

They left a vague threat about legal action and then wished me a blessed day!  Idiots.

Call from a Ryan Smith, U. S. Treasury Dept. He asked to call him back regarding a legal matter at 949-269-7235 ASAP. His Badge #16192.

The caller called himself Kevin Green and said he was from  the Dept of Legal Affairs. I supposedly had been served with a CP-503 form/ letter from the Treasury Dept. When I said I had no idea what he was talking about he said he was going to connect me to another agent named Ryan Coleman. When he transferred the call the second person sounded exactly like the first guy. When I told him that he quickly got off of the phone and said he would send an officer to come to my house.

This is a scam call.

Although scam calls are serious this part made me crack up laughing when they left a message on our voicemail. What government employee says things like "blessed day"?

Just got that phone call. Wish I had a voice analyzer because I'm pretty sure it's the same voice of the fake IRS agent who also calls me every now and then giving different names, Including that of James Harrison.

Got the same call today. My caller id said San Juan Cap CA, and we just returned from San Juan last night from vacation so I picked it up thinking it was related to our trip. Thick accent, asked for my spouse, said he was from Department of Legal Affairs and he wanted to leave a phone number for us to call back. Yeah, right - I hung up.

Yup, same call as everyone else. Wish I could reach through the phone and grab the caller. It was obviously a computer generated voice. I'm sure they don't want their own voice used.

I just got this call today - It was not easy to understand. I listened twice, and I think it was something akin to a threat of legal action against me and I was strongly advised to call back. The guy said his name was Steve Robinson, I think.  What a PITA. I assume it's a scam, but I will never know because I have zero intention of calling back.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

My thoughts exactly! That's when I knew it was a scam.

Just received this same message on voice mail from guy with thick accent and ending call with 'Have a blessed day'.

Yeah, I got one ABOUT Half an hour ago.

caller id on phone was not working so the numbner is what I was told to call back to

said department of legal affairs, something to do with IRS

caller was named richard walker, but sounded like a super thick foreign accent and spoke very slow
I know instantly its a scam, plus last person I want to talk to is IRS :) so no way im calling anyways
