I received 2 calls yesterday and 2 calls today. I worked in the telecom industry for 20 years. Something interesting to know about toll free numbers is that the company that pays for the call (in this case HavenLink) receives a phone bill that lists all the phone numbers that called their toll free number. They paid for the call, so they have the right to have the phone numbers who used it.
I am wary of calling a call center company's toll free number for fear they will take me off the call list for HavenLink, but then use my number in a database for their clients' telemarketing calls. If anyone had a business, they could call the company's main toll free number at 866 367 0661 and ask how they get the telephone numbers for their telemarketing business. If they say that they already have a database or will buy/sell a database, then that's a bad sign. Our numbers may be on that list. If they say that the clients supply their own database, then it's less likely that our numbers are going to be used.
Personally, I'm going to ignore the calls b/c I don't want them to know that they have "a live one" at my phone number. If it gets out of hand, I'll call their business inquiry number and tell them to take me off their list. Thanks for this website whoever put it together. It is nice to have the mystery solved about these calls.
