I got a text message from this number saying they were from www.modifymortgag.us.  Site does NOT exist.  Message said, "www.modifymortgag.us Homeowners, lower your mortgage payment by doing a Loan Modification.  Late on payments OK.  Upsidedown equity OK.  May we give you a call?"

I received the same text message.  I have registered with Do Not Call.  I suppose that text messages are exempt from the Do Not Call registration.

Update:  This number is from a prepaid cell phone under Blue Licenses Holding, LLC.  There is no way this is a legitimate business, so therefore the Do Not Call Registry does nothing for you.  

It's a huge scam.  It's a bunch of people on prepaid phones in California.  Unless you put a huge pressure on the FTC or your phone company, they won't trace it.

Received a text from this number on Aug 12, 2009 at 11:02am. Googled the website to find that it's a scam. Continued to search and found this site where consumers like myself are fed up with the scams. Thanks Kristen for alerting us about these scam artists. My cell # is registered on the DO NOT CALL List.

Received text message stating that they are www.loanmod-gov.org.
I am on the Do Not Call list.  The listed number 949-421-9835.  No a working number and the web addy will not send an email.  The website wants alot of personally information DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM.
