He/She texted me "Thats a fair price i'm presently at Selfridge Air National Guard Base with the US Marines, i intend paying you including the cost of sending it to my son. How can i send you the money please?" And then emailed me "i will like to purchase this item and will be paying you $1150 for the item and shipping to my address through PayPal. i am a verified member Can you get back to me with your PayPal email so that i can send Payment. Thanks a lot." His/Her email was quadrijames@gmail.com

they are international numbers.  why they do that with all craigslist' s ads

I received a text as well regarding an item Im selling on craig list. Didn't respond thanks to this forum.

Craigslist scam. texting me, offering to pay extra shipping to another address. Requesting to pay paypal online and refusing to make payment without my email address. You can make payment with the phone number of mine he/she was texting. I made this person aware. They continue to ask for my email. After this site Im not going to bother with them any longer. Thankyou!

Got a text as well after listing an iPhone on craigslist from 949 441 0389.
Asked to send money through paypal an offered $100 more for having it shipped.
100% SCAM. BEWARE!!!!

This freak wanted to buy my diamond ring. Talked about PayPal this and that. Told him I'd rather do business in person. Said he was legit out of California. Now I know for sure he isn't!
How would this scam pan out if proceeded with?

I sold my phone on Craigslist, this guy texted me to ask if I have a Paypal account, so he can deposited money. I didn't realize that it is a spammer. I just said I don't have PayPal. He even told me o create one, and get back to him as soon as possible.
I google his number, and here is the result.
NEVER TRUST ANYTHING LIKE THIS.

got a text from this idiot wanting to buy my camera!  don't waste your time with "Tomas".

Got a text from number 949-441-0389 regarding sale of my TV on Craigslist. Same spiel about giving him my Paypal address.

Anyways! since I was aware he was a spammer, thanks to this forum, I fooled around with him a bit by exchanging several texts with him pretending I'm serious. He's quite a good scammer since he tried to act completely innocent right till the end.

Same scammer, different day. I have an ad on Craigslist, he/she offered $100 extra to send it to his friend. Wanted Paypal info and I responded that his # was all over the web as a spammer/scammer...
