CALLED ONCE,ASKED TO SPEAK TO PERSON IN CHARGE OF SHIPPING.I REPSONDED BY INFORMIMNNG THE GUY WE DONT REALLY SHIP. 2 DAYS LATER THE SAME SITUATIOIN....THE GUY CALLS ASKS TO SPEAK TO PERSON IN CHARGE OF SHIPPING,IRESPOND THE SAME WAY AS THE DAY BEFORE  THEN HE HANGS UP AND WITHIN A MINUTE THE SAME GUY ASKING THE SAME THING CALLES AGAIN AND I HAD TO TELL HIM THAT HE JUST CALLED 2 SECONDS AGO AND ONCE AGAIN....HANGS UP.,..I CALL THE NUMBER BACK AND GET WHAT SOUNDS SIMILAR TO A BUSY SIGNAL...STOP CALLING!!!  WE DO NOT SHIP ANYTHING!

Yeah, this dude is hilarious.  He questions you as if you don't know what YOU are talking about.  He began the call claiming he was already in talks with the shipping guy and i told him that wasn't possible because... I am the shipping guy.  

That didn't phase him or his schtick one bit. Poor fella has no shame in lying for a living and that's so sad. So I politely ended the call and I could still hear him trying to insert himself as the phone's receiver hit the cradle.

This guy is a liar, is rude, and refuses to stop calling our plant.  'John from IWS.'  worthless.  harrassing and has been asked to stop calling.

These people call our company 2-3 times a week and insist on speaking to the person in charge of shipping, when I tell them they aren't available, ITS ON!! They then want to speak with the person in charge of safety supplies!! I say to them, "but you just wanted to speak with the person in charge of shipping supplies, so which is it?" My problem is they NEVER hang up, they will belittle, argue and continue to get nasty until you either hang up or give them to a shipping person! Even then, we are still going to tell them no so they start over again with the harrasement!! :(

Same here.  They are pests. I have a reject button on my phone....love doing that to them

"So, I need to speak to the guy in shipping - what's his name again?"

That's what the little dude does - so get creative.

"Ima Pest" (love that one, especially when he repeats it).

Said "IND Warehouse"  same schtick!  Said I need to speak to the guy in your shipping department again, what was his name again?  I told him we don't have a shipping department so take our number off your list and I hung up on him.  So far, hasn't called back.  I don't waste my time letting them go on and on, I just hang up on them.  He's a jerk!  

Same happened to me 5 mins ago harassed me telling me transfer me to the shipping guy, he;s working with me already. ok "whats his name my directory is name specific" he says just transfer me to your boss then since you can't help me. I just put the guy on eternahold he sat there for a bout a min before hanging up.  Now I know who this guy is can't wait to mess with him lol.  

Oh, Lord.

It's the old "I just talked to someone the other week about...." and they didn't.

This guy, however, was a MAJOR dud. GRANTED, he wasn't a bully, like most of them are, but he was about as smart as a hard-boiled egg.

I offered him our junk e-mail address, and he said (kid you not) "So, that'll have links?"
Does he not know what EMAIL is?

I hate being the next poster after my own post, but these clowns...man. Their game is to intimidate you into giving them names and/or information.
Of course, once they have that info, they send a,long a phony invoice.

Here's how our conversation went.

"Thank you for calling [company name]"
"Yeah, your shipping manager, what's his name? I need to talk to him"
"Unfortunately, without a name, I cannot transfer you."
"He's the SHIPPING MANAGER!!!!!'
"Again, company policy is that without a name, i cannot transfer you, but i have an email address where you can send any information"
"Well that won't work, I don't have a computer."
"Unfortunately, without a name, I cannot transfer you."
"Well how about [CEO]?"
"Please hold" I transferred him, since he had the name, and obviously, CEO ignored him.
He immediately called right back
"Thank you for calling [company name]"
"I need you to page [CEO]"
"We don't have a paging system."
"Then I need his cell phone number."
"I can't give that out over the phone"
"Well, you can email it to me."
"I thought you said you didn't have a computer."
"Just page [CEO]!"
"We don't have a paging system."
"The let me talk to someone in Human Resources."
"I am in Human Resources."
"Just give me [CEO] cell phone."
"I cannot just give out the CEO's cell phone number to cold callers. If you would like, I can offer you an email address to where you can send any information, beyond that, I will be unable to help you, and will be disconnecting the call."

He hung up. Finally.

He just called and said he was getting back to our Safety Manager. So I asked what's the Safety Manager's name??  He said he didn't remember at the moment, I said you're getting back to the Safety Manager but you don't remember his name? He said no so I said I can't transfer him without a name so he said he would go look at his file and call me back. Yeah sure. I'll hold my breath.

They called wanting to deliver "FREE STUFF" to my company. He kept insisting after i told him several times no. Don't even bother answering the phones with these clowns.

This guy "Kevin" calls ask to speak to our shipping supervisor, like he knows her. He is rude and aggravating. He tries to turn things around on you and then he hangs up. I called the number back and they sell safety supplies. This company "Industrial Supply" is a joke and scam.

CID showed IND WAREHOUSE S, same spiel as above.  When he asked for
shipping I asked him if he was bringing in or picking up a load, he said
picking up.  I asked him who was the consignee, he didn't even know what
the term meant.  I let him sit on hold for a while, picked up and asked
him who the customer was and he hung up.  Scammer.

This guy calls us and asks for the safety manager and wants me to page people when they don't answer. He has a very recognizable voice, too, and I think he says his name is "Kevin". I'm not glad that others are having to deal with this guy, but happy to know that I'm not the only one! We have a guy in our office that eats callers like this for breakfast. Now that I know this caller is a "habitual offender" in harassing other switchboard personnel, I'll send his next call to our Telemarketer Terminator to have some fun with!

Just had the same thing happen here. He lied and acted like he had been cut off from our shipping person and wanted to know his name and when I wouldn't transfer him and told him that I was actually the shipping guys boss he said no no no and are you the ower of the company too? Was totally rude the entire time, very vague, would never tell me what he needed and then hung up on me. When I tried to call back it rings once then changes to a busy signal.

CID showed INDUSTRIAL WAREHOUSE S - "Hey!   How are you doing?!"  Usually, I'm doing great until some idiot telemarketer acts like my best friend and asks how I'm doing-that's how I'm doing.  "Happy Halloween by the way!"  Oh yeah, whoopie.  "I'm trying to get a hold of your shipping manager, what's his name again?"  Oh, you mean Linda?  (It is actually a female, but Linda is made up for his sake) I tell him to hold as I look up his number, see the comments here, see that no business website comes up on a Google search although it is listed under BBB with one star and on The Ripoff Report.  I left my new bestie on hold until he hung up which unfortunately was only about ninety seconds later-off he went to scam and harass someone else.

This guy is still at large!  He seems to get off on trying to piss you off.

He's still at it -- still as rude and "intimidating" as ever!

Extremely rude man tried to harass me into transferring him to someone in purchasing after I told him the shipping manager was "unavailable." We went round and round for about 4 minutes before I hung up. Company policy states no transfers if they don't have a first and last name of a current employee - he did not have that information. He ended up asking for the HR Manager by title AND the CEO by name which was the ticket for getting the call ended. By far the most disrespectful caller I have had in my four years at a corporate office for a global company. (Cross posted, so hopefully people will be thoroughly warned.)
