i didn't call him back because my business is already verified on google so i'm guessing it's a piece-o-[***]  telemarketer.

Telemarketer who gives the impression they are from google.  

Scammers. If you get bored, call them back. Lead them on, and waste as much of their time as you can. They HATE that. Right about the time they figure out I'm messing with them, I say, "It sucks when someone calls and wastes your time doesn't it?" I usually get cursed at - boy that feels good! :)

Person called an left a message if I didnt update my address on google maps my site wouldnt be shown .I called back and got a message to leave a message then googled this phone number to see its b.s..

got a VM saying that if I didn't cb my business wouldn't be noted on google maps.  Red flags automatically go up with calls like these...no need to cb thanks to posters.  And BTW, almost a week later & nothing has changed re my listing...like GET EVEN's post if they caught me on the phone would love to pay it back !

Google never makes out calls period.

Just received a call from this number. The caller left a voice mail message stating they are from Google Maps and I need to call them back or my business listing will be deleted from Google Maps. Couple things......

1. I don't have a business listed on Google Maps.

2. I completely deleted my Google account (including gmail) two years ago.

This is absolutely a SCAM!

Caller said that he had tried calling before and there would be consequences if I did not get him to the business owner.

Calls consistently late at night, i.e., 7:14PM, and later. From 2 ph #'s:  949-478-6861, and 949-478-6814. So block both.

It's some lead service company trying to solicit my company (general contractor) to do "garage door services".  It's a recorded message.  I'm a custom home builder, not a flippin' garage door installer!  I keep getting these calls and I just keep blocking every stupid solicitor who calls.  Just another one to add to the list.  I use the PrivacyStar app.  My blocked list must be HUGE!

They use come-ons like "we've got a house in Berkeley that needs landscaping, and trimming, if this is the kind of work you do, please give us a call back." <-Normal homeowners don't talk like a professional telemarketer when shopping for landscaping services...

As with the others, but one better:

Rec'd junk call from 949-478-6861, at 7:20pm - we never answer unknowns. Reverse Lookup provided landline Newport Beach, CA. A minute later he then called from 949-478-6814.

“Yeah, this is Kurt, ah-hem, this is a call for the owner, I wanna to talk to him about some new work. Have the owner call me at 949-478-6826.” – He sounded half in the bottle at the time.

Oh, and the best part? This is a payphone in the main hallway of our very old multi-apartment, here in Queens that we decided to retain, and keep going for kicks. Being the manager at the local Culver's sure wonder what work he'd be talking about? (Stay tuned.)
