    I let it go to voice mail and no message left. CID show up as Gary Anderson. Since you said Huntington Beach, I looked him up. Shows up as a doctor and an article about him donating millions to Hoag Hospital.

    Most likely the calls are robo-dialed and your number just came up in the sequence they were cycling through. If you're lucky, it'll be a one-off. It's when people answer or call back (a really bad idea) that the receiving phone number gets validated and becomes a valuable commodity in the scammers' marketplace.
