I signed up for a month of service on a website named Realtytrac.com.  The website specializes in foreclosure related information. I've since unsubscribed but my month doesn't end for 2 more weeks so technically I'm still subscribed.
I got a recorded call from this # asking me if I wanted to participate in a conference call re some kind of foreclosure information.
When I singed up on the website I was unaware that I might receive recorded telemarketing calls. Grrrr

Yes. This is a company called RealtyTrac. It is a foreclosure property information provider and once you either sign up or inquire about it, you are bound to receive calls from them.

    Hope this helps.

I had this guy who wouldn't tell me his name call from this number and he goes "don't be scared of me."
***** scary ******  And he goes "is this your email?" and I said "no" and he goes "don't be scared... and he calls me by my opposed email name."  Yikes.. calling better business bureau to make a complaint NOW.

They call anonymously now replies to Mark
    | 8 replies
They've tried calling me anonymously without giving me their info.  But they say "I hear you're looking for foreclosed properties." It just so happens that EVERYONE who has been in contact from them has been either a member or former member on REALTY TRAC.  A company that claims they won't give your personal information out.  I think Realty Trac gives it out to these people after you stop membership with them.. maybe because they think that you won't trace them selling your info back to them.  If people band together, there could be a serious lawsuit not necessarily for Trinity but to Realty Trac.

I never agreed for that but they called replies to annoyed
    | 1 reply
I never agreed to that, I haven't been a realty trac member for almost a year, but they suddenly called me out of the blue (the trinity people) and REFUSED to give me THEIR NAME.  REFUSED. Yet asked me for my personal info.  I said "Never ask someone for their personal info if you aren't going to tell them who they are" and then I quickly looked their number up and said "any idiot will know you are from Trinity" and the guy quickly hung up.  Very Very shady as far as I'm concerned.  Also they happen to be in Irvine next to Realty Trac.  I also was charged once for an opposed magazine subscription I subscribed to.  I NEVER subscribe to stuff that Realty Trac asked me too and yet they said I may have did by accident, because they asked you to join the first thing when you join.  Well I know for a fact I clicked "no" but had no way of proving.  I neither received ONE (1) magazine, the magazine company wouldn't issue me a refund and Realty Trac tried not to take blame.  It's shady that BBB Org gives Realty Trac a good rep.  I think it is deceptive and gives BBB a bad name... Makes me not trust them at all.

Have you also noticed when it comes to utilize the ACTUAL services you want Realty Trac for, like contacting a helpful real estate agent and contacting the members of people getting forclosed, you NEVER get a response? I think realty Trac is a waste of money and they conduct shady practices, re: Selling people's information and denying it.

Trinity not Realty Trac replies to Mike
Actually it ISN'T Realty Trac, but a company that gets *your* cell phone number from RealtyTrac.  They both are in Irvine and work together.  But they will call you and deny they are affiliated with Realty Trac. . .  really really shady.

*Don't give your info out to these people under no circumstance*

Will try to get money from you for property, based on their knowledge you are looking from website: www.realtytrac.com.  Don't join realty trac if you don't want your info sold to people like these.

I got the call today and googled it and found this site. Thanks to whomever posts this site!!!!

I to was a one month subscriber to realty trac.  Other than taht few people even know this phone number. So I'd say whomever made the connection hit a home run.

Now let's see if we can hti a homerun back.  I am on the do not call list as I assume most others on here are.  How about a class action lawsuit. Surely out there someone knows an up and coming attorney who wants such a suit. They could even join realtytrac in the suit as an accomplice for selling the names.

Or maybe someone could refer to the FTC or whatever federal agency it is taht is supposed to guard our privacy. I too never agreed to be called by telemarkers, especially on my cell phone which means I pay for the minutes!

So if you know someone wanting to start a classaction have them post it here. I'll sign up. The fees are pretty high, up to $500 per call, so if realty track is selling the thousands of numbers they get every month then they will be selling lots of numbers!

Oh, and by the way, the realtytrac site really, really SUCKED.  The info was up to two years old, completely outdated, FULL OF ERRORS (like wrong addresses altogether, sometimes non-existant addresses).  I was looking in one particular neighborhood.

Of the 10 listings they provided:  two did not exist (wrong street name due to typo;   three or four were the foreclosing attorney's office address and not in fact a property address; two had been foreclosed two years hence but had since closed.  That left about two out of 10 properties to look at. Overall the website was a complete waste of time and not worth $5 per month, let alone $50 per month.

Our company's main phone received a recorded message from this number. The beginning was cut off but it seems to be an invitation to attend a seminar.

    don't call
Very friendly and bubbley, asked for me by first name.  Didn't recognize the number so I said "you have the wrong number".  The reply was a very devious "Oh, really?".  To which I hung up.  Yes, I frequently answer when I don't know who it is, you never know, I may have won a million dollars, or it may be some low-life that got my number in some unsolicited way that I can complain about. Realty-Trac (?) seems to be the source.  Not only was it a waste of money (found more information from the clerk of courts office for free) now I find out they give away my phone number!

Perhaps if you had difficulty in your search on Realty Trac, you may try going back to school and learning how to spell,or at least type. Any search on the internet is only as good as the idiot on the keyboard. Funny....if you'd read your own complaint riddled with errors, it's the very thing that you accuse Realty Trac of doing. Wonder if was your typo...not theirs.??????

I haven't recieved any phone calls from these people at Realty Trac, but after reading some of these comments here on this site, and getting an idea of the shallow minds here....I think I'll give Realty Trac a call. One thing is for certain, if some of the pea brains on this site don't get it....it must be a good thing.
