Says only "Irvine" in the caller ID, when I answered it claimed to be General Electric and stated that they were responsible for the wiring in our home security system and wanted to know if we wished to lower our monthly rate of service.  They've been calling multiple times a day for the past week.

The number mentioned here (949) 767-9104 indicates only "Irvine" on the caller ID and continuosly calls day and nite.
A very rude male caller would not ID himself and indicated that he wanted to know about the security system in our home. He was seeking information which is confidential and I have sent his number to the US Secret Service and local law enforcement agency for follow-up. Anybody who receives a call from this alleged "Irvine" solicitor should not give out any information as this might also be an attempt to conduct information for criminal activity. When the number is recalled, it merely has a generic voice indicating to leave a message for the promotions department.

Call receivers be Aware! Do not give out any information.

Howie, you are so right about this phone #.yes they call here  at least 5-8 times each day.
     One time a collection company did the same thing for WEEKS!

I really wish the phone company would  reinstate CALL 69.! At least we could find out who is calling.

have been receiving calls from 949-767-9104 almost every days.  ID indicates "Irvine"  the phone rings twice then nothing and no message.  Last call was received today Jan 27, 2011 at 2:51pm.

I continue to receive calls from 949-767-9104.  The phone rings twice and they hang up.  When I actually am able to answer the phone, they hang up on me.  What is up with this??

I've got the same rude man on the phone, as reported by Peter: same number, caller ID = IRVINE, presented himself as a General Electric employee, knew who my alarm provider was, knew _exactly_ my monthly fee, and offered services of a competing home alarm company for a lower rate. Talking A  LOT, he was pushing very hard to accept the offer, even sending his "technician" in an "officially marked truck" to "rewire" my home alarm. I said "no way", firmly, and he abruptly hang up. Definitely, some kind of criminal activity here.

They call multiple times a day. When I answer there is a pause and if I do not make any sounds it hangs up. Otherwise I can here other people making calls in the background and they claim to be "GE the maker of my alarm system". If I threaten them they hang up. Have been getting these calls for months and at least two calls a day. Also the caller ID says Irvine for the name.

Keeps calling and hanging up.  Doesn't even gone me a chance to tell them to stop.  Annoying

A lady sounds like a drank called me from this number. I asked what this call is for and she said something about my vehicle. She also knows my name. Her speech was unclear and I asked not to call me. So strange....
