- SaraGarbled message. Claimed to be Dept of Legal Affairs, recommended having retained attorney call back. Seems like spam.
- Caller: claimed to be Dept of Legal Affairs
- LissaClaimed to be from the legal affairs department but wouldn't give me any information on the case file or the specific legal affairs department. I have no known legal cases against me so I am assuming this is some sort of scam.
- Caller: Claimed to be from Dept of Legal Affairs

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so. - PatrickSame as others have stated here... Claimed to be from the legal affairs department, but what company? Wouldn't give any information. You'd think if they were going to run a scam, they would at least use somebody who could speak English... Couldn't understand every other word.
- EScam call from a stupid East Indian saying his name is "Robert Pride" but can barely speak English and claiming to be from the IRS trying to steal money from me. Knew it was a scam since he couldn't speak any English that I understood except his name Robert which was obviously fake.

I am pretty sure he is calling about a tax lien that I had with the IRS.
Threatened that I would be jailed if I didn't write down a phone number and call the agent who had legal business with me. We need to find out the tax attorney who uses this guy. They should both go to jail. I wish I had taken his number.
complete scam. But get the number so we can find out the company behind this guy.- Caller: Pretended to be from US Treasury
- girlGot call from the legal affairs department, IRS, name he gave was - Marco (had heavy accent). He said that they looked through my taxes and in 2008 there was an error and now I owe them $2998.78!!!! He said as soon as we'll finish talking and hang up, they (IRS) will issue the order on my arrest, I will be arrested in the next couple of hours, will go to jail and spend 6 or more months there, I will lose my house, my job, my bank account will be cleared out, and the penalty will be huge. Embarrassing for me to admit it now but I totally bought it. Got very scared, I panicked, it was so sudden I could not tell was it true or not. The first thing that pop up in my mind was - I need to see a lawyer. But when I asked him can I call a lawyer, he strongly said NO 'cause it's illegal according to Federal Laws. And of course, if I'll pay this amount right now, all of those thing will go away. And even after he told me to pay them I still was not sure is it scam or real!!! But I decided to take a chance in "disobeying" Federal Laws and talked to a lawyer. When she(lawyer) tried to talk to "IRS guy" and she just introduced herself - he hang up. She told me it's a scam. It was very disturbing experience.

- sickofscammersI received 2 messages on 10/26/14 from "Department of Legal Affairs" name and phone #:Roy Jackson: 949-783-0717. When I returned that call, I was told that the "Magic Jack number was no longer in service." On 10/16/14, I received a message from a "Mike Torrez" from the " Dept of Legal Affairs" who informed me legal charges were being filed against me and to return his call, or have my attorney call, "Have a blessed day." I've received countless scam calls in the last 6 years so I returned to the call to ascertain what information they had. I called 562-398-3763 and "Daniel Parker" with the "Dept of US Treasury" answered, which would be surprising since I called after government business hours. He connected me with "Inspector Kevin Spencer, employee # 11538," who informed me I made an error on my taxes in 2009 and if I did not pay the balance, an officer would be serving me papers at 11am in the morning. I confirmed all the information about his name, company, etc., informed him I knew this was a scam and I was hanging up and reporting him to a detective currently investigating calls such as this on my behalf. These people are a nuisance and keep calling. I hope this post saves someone from being scammed and by documenting their attempts at fraud, aids investigators in shutting down these operations.
