called my phone today, told me i signed up for advertising which i did not. Even read off my accurate ss# to me. Asked to talk to a supervisor, they hung up. I filed fraud notices to all 3 credit bureaus. BEWARE

Received a call 10:14am 1/16/2009. Did not leave message.

Multiple calls, no messages left. I did answer, she asked for me by my first name only. I asked for hers. She would not give it to me at first, but she did gave her name (Jean) and then Hung up!

Just started getting calls from 949-784-0800 today. No message. How do you report it or make it stop?

I can confirm that this is local.com. I signed up for free advertising with them, and the rep was just following up to see if I wanted to upgrade to a paid plan.

I signed up for free advertising with local.com and specifically told them I wanted NO PHONE CALLS trying to sell me more. They still continue to call me almost every day! I have had the same problem with Yellow Book!

READ   THIS   ...   the # seems to be for     local.com      they just call and do not leave a message or anything after 3 sec. they hung up.     kind of dummy to make the call and not get anything out of it ...right?
if they are a company trying to sell advertising they have much to learn  - you don't call potential customers at 10.00 pm to try getting their money!!!!!!!!           yeah...   they called at 10.00 PM

Called, confirmed my name and hung up. I suspect it is Local.com as stated in other posts here, but why they just hang up I have no idea.

Ron did you say Yes when they asked you to confirm your name? If might have just used that to say you signed up for some advertising or something. I got the call too but answered the phone and then just hung it back up! I refuse to say yes to anything that is asked of me. I ask who they are and if they refuse to answer then I hang up!

Confirming that it is local.com.  The first couple of times they called, they left a message making it clear they wanted to provide more advertising since I had gotten a free listing.  I believe they don't leave a message after that because they assume if you didn't return the call the first time, the only way they'll make a sale is if they get you live.  I know their area code by heart now so they're never going to get me live.  Wasting their own time and resources.
