Caller identified himself as Andrew Goldstein. Sounds like a sales call.

got a call from Andrew Goldstein at 949-797-7119. He wanted to speak with my in-laws, once of which is deceased. He made it sound urgent. He said he was on a recorded line (which he hadn't mentioned earlier--aren't you required to?) and that he wasn't allowed to disclose the nature of the call. When I pressed him, he said it was "social" in nature.

Atlas collection agency. Debt collecters. Just took care of my debt.

Remember people. If the call is recorded they must tell you before you or they say anything further. If this is an attempt to collect a debt then they are required to read you the mini miranda. "I must tell you that this is an attempt to collect a debt and any and all information gathered will be used to do so." Remember that phrase...if they don't say that phrase and you take them to court they can and will be breaking the law which can award you monetarily if you sue them.
