They call us few times a day never leave a message.

Haha i thought i was in some deep trouble

I recognized it was a UCI number because of the "(949) 824" part but I would strangely get calls after business hours  anywhere between 6 to 8pm. Only one place would do that and that's UCI's own telephone outreach program. They call you under multiple numbers and last year I was plagued by 6-7 of these very similar numbers almost every day (the phone numbers would only differ by one or two digits). And as soon as you reject a phonecall their system is automatically programmed to call back immediately afterwards. I once rejected 5 calls in a row because of their incessant auto-callback feature. Their ultimate goal is to get to the PARENTS of the students to ask for donations... and apparently the only way to remove your number from their list is if they can get your parent on the phone in the first place! I know because I asked to be taken off the list and the lady told me that they weren't "authorized" to do that unless the parent of the student makes that request. What a bunch of bull! It's my number so I should have the right to be taken off the list!

Do they have a way to contact my parents, perhaps a seance or something?  Because both of my parents are deceased.

i graduated from fsu & my husband attended several colleges...stanford, university of idaho, moscow, umas...but not uci!

why would we want to support a rich kid's school?

Persistent pests.  I reported them to nomo.  They might add them to the shi-ite list.  Yes I graduated form UCI ages ago. So did my spouse and my nephew.  I really don't have any feeling for the school.  But these calls are making me want to bleep it.

Did UCI (University of California Irvine) buy phone numbers to solicit donations?  We have no affiliation with them.  Why would they call our home????

BTW, we did not answer.  We do not answer our phone anymore.  We wait for a voicemail.  Then, look up the phone number on this site.  Then, we block the number. Usually, the robodialers hang up after 4 rings.  That is how we know it is no one we know.

They're terrible and if you try to be nice they don't listen and keep reading their script! Not a good reputation for a university

I tried to contact the "outreach" department on the UCI webpage, but there's no way to send them an email! If a school's idea of connecting with its alumni is to pester them every day around dinnertime, then probably I'm not an alum they are going to reach.
