Has called several times, but never says anything, either when I answer or let the machine pick up. It is really getting to be quite annoying.

This person has called her twice today. As I do not recognize the telephone number, I refuse to pick up and answer the call. If it is a legitimate call, the person calling should be able to leave a message stating who they are and what they are calling about. If the person cannot at least do that much than they are not worthy of my time. The name on the caller ID is McGargar Garret.

Area code 949 is an area code in California that is contained mostly within the southern areas of Orange County. It also includes a small adjacent area of northwest San Diego County, specifically parts of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton and San Onofre State Park. It includes some of the wealthiest communities in the United States; including such cities as Newport Beach, Irvine, Lake Forest, Portola Hills, Coto de Caza, Dove Canyon, Aliso Viejo, Trabuco Canyon, Capistrano Beach, Corona Del Mar, Laguna Niguel, Laguna Hills, Laguna Woods, Newport Coast, Foothill Ranch, Robinson Ranch, Mission Viejo, San Juan Capistrano, Rancho Santa Margarita, Ladera Ranch, Dana Point, Laguna Beach, and San Clemente. Costa Mesa is shared between the 949 and 714 area codes, being split at Wilson Street and along Newport Boulevard. A very small portion of Irvine is also in the 714 area code, from the north side of Culver Drive at the I-5 to Jamboree Road in the Marketplace, in the neighborhood of Northpark Irvine.

Further research shows that this is a landline call from Irvine California. My strong advice to everyone is that if you do not recognize the number that is calling you, do not feed into their game by answering the phone. These people are scammers and crooks that should be put under the jail.

If you are continually getting these harassing calls, try and go through and get an agent on the phone and find out as much info on the company as possible!!! Find names of people you spoke with, the name of the company, address info, call back numbers, and then notify the FTC @ 877-382-4357 reference case #30416734

Just so you are all aware, my name is Garrett McCargar, and for some strange reason my cell phone number has been placed as an outbound caller id for someone’s tax company it sounds? Believe me, i wish the calls weren't happening either, as I wouldn't be getting 300+ random people calling my cell phone each day. I'm about to have to change my number altogether with Sprint. Either someone is trying to play a [***] ass prank on me, or someone working for some tax relief center doesn't know what the hell they are doing and set my number up on their caller id.

I'll personally apologize for whatever idiot set their campaign up, and wish I had the ability to find out who did it and fix the problem... but unfortunately I can’t and may have to just wait it out.

Find names of people you spoke with, the name of the company, address info, call back numbers, and then notify the FTC (877-382-4357 reference case #30416734) and state that someone is calling you from this number, and I'll be able to prove the fact that these calls are NOT being made on my behalf. Please also re-post any pertinent info on this page so I can do the same and do some follow-up on these jerks.

SORRY GUYS, BUT BELIEVE ME... I'D RATHER BE GETTING 2 CALLS PER DAY FROM A RANDOM VOICE BROADCAST CALL INSTEAD OF 300+ FROM PEOPLE I NEVER CONTACTED IN THE FIRST PLACE!
