Caller says hes (James Brown) from the US Treasury and that I must call Russel Reid back back immediatelly or risk being in a big LEGAL MESS.  Funny thing is tha he called me last night and this morning from an Ohio area code and suddenly he's in CA.  When I told him this morning that i was recording the call he got all pissy and hung up.  I really wish he would stop calling me .  I have reproted it to FTC and Attorney Gererals Ofc

This company called me saying false information about my taxes. Said they were gonna send law enforcement in 40 mins... Interested to see if they show up.

Got the same BS call from James Brown, show you how dumb theses scam artists are the US Treasury doesn't call you, their the US Mint!!!!   If you owe Money the IRS sends you a letter, not the police.

Got a call on my fax line. Some guy named Nizer. He Said there was legal trouble and told me to call Russel Reid at Dept if Legal Affairs right away.
I took the number and said I would call later.
After hanging up they called me again, over and over 10+ times. I didn't answer. I had to unplug the phone. I searched the number and read so many scam complaints with the same name Russel Reid. When I tried calling the number the recording said "the magic jack number you are calling has a voicemail box that's full".
No government agency will call from a magic jack!!

I just rec'd a call from some idiot that barely spoke English saying it was a serious matter about unpaid taxes, they have been sending certified letters to my house, etc, etc I need to call some officer at (949)873-7420 or risk being in big trouble. How the heck do I keep getting on these lists???  Pretty sure if I owed anything, I would know!

On my answering machine were two messages from somebody saying he was, "Jack Alexander from the US Treasury Department" calling to inform me that a legal case has been filed in my name. He suggests that I call him back and hire legal counsel. "A big mess". Then he calls 2 more times within the next few hours and finally says, in a threatening tone, "This is the last message....." He was adamant that I call him back at 949 873-7420.

Caller had heavy accent claiming he was from Dept. Of legal affairs. His name was supposedly  Chris Evans. He said my husband had 1 hour to call back or face legal something or other, I could't understand. That was the 1st message, the second one said the same the thing, and he still had 1 hour to call and that few hours later! The caller id read Newport Beach, CA.

"Chris Evans" supposedly from the US Treasury called and left a message in a strong Asian accent.  He said that there is enforcement action pending against me, and that I must call back ASAP and speak to Russell Reid regarding my tax evasion and other charges.  When I called, I found that "Reid" also has a strong accent and began reading a list of charges from his "legal document" .  At this point I hung up on the obvious scam.

Receiving calls from caller reporting himself as Chris Adams  informing me that if I do not call him back legal action will ensue.

Many messages from a man with a middle east accent.  This is how the message goes:  This message is to contact ____.  Hey this is Jack Alexander with the United States Treasury Department to inform you that there is a legal case that has been filed on your name from the day it's served, the number to reach me is 949-873-7420 again that is 949-873-7420, if for any reasons you are busy to call back I would suggest you to have your retainer attorney to do it for you, in stalling to calling us might end up into a legal mess for you, I hope you would take this right and call me back and if not, legal actions will be taken against you with the immediate affect.  This is Jack Alexander with the United State Treasury Department looking forward to speaking with you immediately.

You should turn your autocorrect off before you get yourself in trouble!

Received same call from "Chris Evans"  department of legal affairs. He left voice mail similar to yours as if reading a script. Several pauses in his message. class action suit against me. Need to call back to resolve a legal mess!  I called back the number back and asked for Chris Evans and asked this person on the phone to verify he was Chris Evans, he hung up.

Received numerous calls/voice mails from a person calling himself "Jack" (heavy East Indian or Pakistani accent) from the U.S. Treasury, stating that I must call (949) 873-7420 immediately and speak to Chief Investigator "Russel Reid" concerning a legal problem with my taxes.  Finally got tired of him calling me and told him he was a scam artist, a liar, etc., etc., (lost my temper) and also told him I reported him to the U.S. Treasury Dept., which I did. Special Agent with the U.S. Treasury Dept. took my information about the scam and told me there is an ongoing investigation into this matter and to not respond to the caller. "Jack" called me again and left me another voice mail saying I'd better call the above phone number or I'd be in serious legal trouble.  Finally disabled my phone because I don't use that phone number anyway.  Hope these guys are caught quickly so us honest, law abiding Americans can continue to live in peace.

got a call yesterday, same story wanting to talk to my husband, I hung up on him twice . He called back a third time and told me not to hang up on him this is a serious matter and I needed to tell my husband to call Jack Alexander at 559-836-5616. to get rid of him I told him i would. at 9:30 am this morning I get anlther call same guy with a diffrent name when I tell him I talked to him yesterday he ask if we call I said no so he gave me the name of Russell Reed at 949-873-7420 to call. I told him I had just googled this no# and this is a scam please stop calling me. That when he said they were going to file charge by the end of the day if I didn't call that no#, I told him not to wait till the end of the day do it now and leave me alone

3 calls today from 949-873-7420.  I was pleasant the first time.  Second time I wasn't here, no message.  3rd time I called them out, regarding their scamming, and he started yelling at me.  I informed that I will be calling the US States Attorney, and that is when he yelled at me that by the close of business today, our bank accounts will be frozen.  LOL well if you were real, have fun with that because they're empty.

Came home to a similar message on my recorder. I want to thank everyone who has taken the time to note their experiences on this website. I knew immediately that this was a scam, but it is so reassuring to hear from other people who received the same phone call. Thank you! :)

This guy with a heavy accent called me and said that I will be arrested before the end of the day and that I have to call my criminal lawyer and I will tell my lawyer to call them. He said that he is from the U.S. Treasury legal office and that I have not been paying my taxes. I asked him if he could delay my arrest so that I can withdraw $1,000,000 and mail it to him. He hung up.

Ok, found out that this number is a Magic Jack user.

I spoke to them on regarding being a scammer, and informed them I will be calling the US States Attorney, they tell me they are going to freeze all our bank accounts.

Got the same call this morning. Same song and dance. Asked him for his web site and he asked me why I needed that. He did not want to talk to me , he said my wife was in trouble. I then unleashed a string of profanities that made my dogs run upstairs. I then called back to them 3 times and called them lousy crooks (among other things). Call them back!! Make these crooks know that you're not taking their lies. After a few times they won't answer the phone and it will go to a voice male with another thick accented turd saying you've reached the main office in Washington DC. I guess Newport beach moved to the east.
