I got the same thing however they new my moms name and they said who it was I guess did not make sense

asked for me by name, I asked who was asking, then he hung up. redialed and showed it was a "magic jack" customer and was not available.

Same here - they never left a message.  MagicJack v/m when called back.... you KNOW it has to be someone who thinks they can SCAM us.....  If they were legit - they would have some sort of polite v/m to leave a message regarding their services with the company name and how to REALLY contact them!!!!

Some sort of home improvement company -knew my wife's last name. Some sort of scam.

I just got a call from this guy. He sounded a little crazy. Knew my first name,too.Ii was kinda concerned until I found  out you guys were getting calls, too.

Called on Monday 9/9 at 10:29 am. Called on Tuesday at 9:07 am both during my
absence. Left no message. I believe these calls are from Newport Beach, CA.

949-873-7571 a telemarketer...So called "The Design Center" My wife answered the call this morning and they announced themselves as The Design Center, my wife said sounds more like a call center, he said we are the Design Center. My wife told the telemarketer we are on the National Do Not Call Registry, then this bozo then said "We are on the National Do Call Registry" She then hung up on this brainless idiot. It’s a shame that bozo's like him call people and annoy them with stupid remarks like that...Why don’t you go and get a real job and bring value to yourself and this great nation, and quit bothering our good citizens with unnecessary stupidness, as they say stupid is what stupid does. So you must be stupid working in a call center for minimum wages…great future.
Filed another complaint against the Design Center with the FTC...Some day they will come down on your company and close the door right in your wallet.

caller ID said Newport Beach, CA; no one there when I answered, I only answered because I have doctors in Newport Beach and was expecting a call. Idiots. Earlier call today from another local number who had someone in my neighborhood who could give me an estimate on new windows, paint job, new AC/heating, anything. I said not interested in doing business with telemarketers and he was offended, he was just trying to save me money!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a home improvement scam, they know your name and act like you have talked to then before. They have called me before, but used different numbers in Orange County. Told the rep we had never talked before, he claimed we had, that I was on the do not call list and don't bother to call again as I was going to block the number. They will probably call back using a different number.

I provide administrative assistance to older adults and one my clients just received a call from this number. She tried to be as polite as possible telling him, three times she liked her windows, After the third time he told her "you're a stupid woman" and hung up.
I AM LIVID that some idiot would say such a thing to anyone when making a telemarketing call let alone an 88 year old woman.
She told me not to try to track hinm down that "he might lose his job." Well i will track him down but if ANY of you find out who this magic [***] is, please let me know asap at tjjsm@aol.com

Scammer, don't bother answering.  Asking for credit card info, doesn't identify himself, when you ask "what is your name, company address, number i can reach you at", etc..." responds with "why do you want to know".  odd, especially when you're asking for a credit card number over the phone to reserve a "free window inspection".  imagine that, a liar, cheat, and thief that makes unsolicited calls at all hours of the day!

block if you must, but the person will just call back with one of his other 75 other free internet phone numbers.  if you're getting calls from this number, or people like it you obviously stupidly signed up for something/gave your phone number out to someone who sold it (along with thousands others) for a few cents.  that's right, you're getting bothered at all hours of the day b/c someone sold your name & number for a few pennies.  pretty awesome, right?

whether it was angies list, an ad. you put on the net, a "sweepstakes" you signed up for, a raffle/drawing you entered (think of those things at places like a mall where you fill out a little piece of scratch paper with your name, number, address, etc...to win a car.  almost every one of those is just a giant number collection scam, so they can sell your #/info to telemarketers), etc, etc....

the ONLY thing you can do is CHANGE YOUR NUMBER.  that's it.  blocking numbers, signing up for "do not call lists" (a total joke), ignoring calls, telling them to "take you off the list", etc, etc...does NOT WORK.  the only thing to do is PROTECT YOUR NUMBER AND INFORMATION at all costs.  be careful what you sign up for.  be careful what you fill out on the internet.  WHEN IN DOUBT, THROW IT OUT!  meaning, if it's not imperative that whatever you're filling out/signing up for gets your number, then DO NOT WRITE IT DOWN.  or, you'll change  your number, and just have the same thing happening again.  

USE COMMON SENSE AND LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES.

I looked up the number, it comes from FOCAL COMMUNICATIONS CORP OF CALIFORNIA I figure this is a scam and is not to be trusted. They used my mothers name, and she wont give her name to anyone. If they wont give their name, don't trust them. She doesn't even sign up for anything. When the Do not call is back up, call and report them.

Received another call from this number.I have long list of numbers of these scam artist and this number has come up a number of times and numbers close to it. These people are no better than some one who breaks into you house with a gun and takes your money. Why would you do business with someone who is out to cheat you out of your money and wants to steal your personal information. My 90 year old mother lost lot a money to these phone  scam artist.

Have had six calls from these bozos since August.  Mostly nobody there, but called one of them a criminal.  It's time to get CONGRESS off there feuding backsides and get back to work and make this type of call a FEDERAL CRIME AND DO HARD TIME.  Civil penalties don't hurt these guys.  WE NEED ALL THEIR ILLEGAL GAINS CONFISCATED AND THEN A LIFETIME BAN FROM ANY PHONE RELATED BUSINESS.
I'm tired and millions of other US citizens are tired of all this bovine fertilizer.  Thank you for allowing me to rant.
