Veronica calling, telling me she is from Microsoft, and my computer is sending out viruses.  Can't these Idiots even think of a new scam?

No message left.   Given that I've received 3 calls in the last 2 days from different numbers--all of which others have reported the "microsoft infection scam" on, am sure this was it again....

They have called about 10 times and now starting with another phone number.  I am disconnecting the phone.  We have illness in the house and folks not able to get around, and this is very annoying.
I don't think they are the irs.  This is pathetic. i hope someone gets them.

it is really sad and aggravating that for the monies we have to pay for our communicating devices that the government or law enforcement officers can't or won't do anything about these calls. the do-not-call list is a pathetic waste of time and effort. the IRS, you would think, would try to track down these morons. after all, if they wanted us to think more highly of them and their actions, they would accomplish this minor task with the thousands of employees of whom we are paying their wages.

These people call any working number.  My friend who does not own a computer gets calls every day about the "virus.". IRS as well.  She is quite old and these calls upset her very much.  I put these numbers in my phone book labeled as scam so I don't answer them!

Just had a call from this number today---Thanksgiving afternoon!!!!  I do not answer unfamiliar #'s.  Went to answering machine, but no message, but this was different from most telemarketers who disconnect right away after reaching the answering machine.  This one kept the line open, and recorded operator message comes saying, "If you want to make a call, hang up and call again".  Then that horrible loud buzzing comes on when a line is left open, reminding one to disconnect the line.  Very frustrating, because I then have to pick up the phone and then hang up to stop it.  I wonder what would happen if we were not here, like maybe on vacation,----would our phone not be able to be reached by a legitimate caller because the line is open??  How long would it go on before finally stopping?

Caller ID said "Name Unavailable", didn't answer until third ring, no one there. If it was a valid Caller ID on my phone it would have looked like "NAME UNAVAILABLE" in caps. Stupid spam caller falsifying the name to try and get past my blocking hardware.

They call and say they work for microsoft and that my computer has a virus. When I spoke to someone and asked if he actually worked for microsoft he said yes so I informed him that I know for a fact that microsoft does not make these calls. He hung up, unfortunately before I could tell him how incredibly ashamed of the fact that he is a scammer piece of you know what.

We had the same problem with probably a dozen calls a day.  I bought a Sentry call blocker and not a single robo call has gotten past it since I bought it.  It was well worth the money.

DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM. Hang up.

This number called me today...and I did press 1, and got an actual foreign accented female....I go thru the whole process...not actually giving out personal information...I keep these annoying dirt-bags on the phone as loooong as possible....asking questions...answering questions with false informAtion...make small talk and such...I do this because it wastes their time, as they do mine...I also figure the more I keep them tied up, the less time they have to bother someone else. Also they are accountable for their time, their employer will want to know why they were on the phone with me for 30-40 minutes without accomplishing their mission, which is to steal my info/hack my computer, etc. Got rid of quite a few callers using this method, but is time consuming and annoying!

Guy from "Microsoft" is still on the phone. I asked which computer was generating errors, the Eniac or the MVS/360? A little off script. I eventually told him I didn't have a Windows machine, and he hung up. I did not do this: http://pengcognito.com/index.php?id=phonescam (because I forgot.)
