Like Ron. Rang once and gone. I just obtained a new smartphone and #. Only way they could have called is through a random dialer. I do not know anyone in L. A.

I did not ask for this phone call. I receive this phone call on 3/29/2015 at 10:10 p.m. Central Daylight Time. The phone number appeared on my cellphone as (951)-228-9408. Brian who was the person who called me. Telemarketer. He identified himself as Brian from Novely Enterprise from Austin, Texas.  I'm unsure if I spelled the name of business correctly? He spoke very fast when providing the name of the company he was working for.
Brian wanted me to "provide my credit card number" over the phone to pay for shipping charges for two free gifts. The first gift was a 2X $25 Gift card for Target and 2X $25 for American Express card. I did not initiate this call.
(I requested to be removed from their calling list but he refused and insisted I provide my credit card number for the two free gifts. I did not feel comfortable giving my credit card number over the phone I said. In have never been a customer of there's and unsure why they were making random phone calls. I call this a scam! Brain did not say how  he got my cellphone number and I never had talked to this company before. They wanted me to pay by credit card only and only via telephone a sum of $5.65 for shipping cost. I do not want any calls from (951) 228-9408. I did not provide my credit card info.

I just received a call from this number (951-228-9408) at 4:04 pm 3/30/2015 Central time.  I answered the phone and they immediately hung up.  I waited about 5 minutes later and called them back.  It rang 3 times then they declined the phone call.  So I Googled it to see if I could find out who the number belongs to, and I saw the entire page on Google showing that people are wondering who this is.  Well, now I know that it's a scam.  The part that sucks is that I actually have family and friends in Southern California and I have an uncle in the hospital that just got diagnosed with bone cancer.  So of course I answered it thinking it was family.  Either way, I hope this adds to the statistics on when these cowards call.

I just got a call from them and did not answer because I am in Europe and don't want to pay for the call.  I'm glad I checked here, since I would have wasted money answering a scam call.

LIke Rachel. Rang once and hung up.  Probably wanted to see if it was a live number so they could sell my number as a viable number. That is my take of it.

Got call from this number on my cell--answered and couldn't hear reply. Said greeting again and call was disconnected by caller. This is the same area code I live in, so I answered not knowing who it was. Checked here next.

Same as most others here: hung up on me the moment I picked up.

I've been getting unwanted phone calls from various numbers over the last few days, about 1-2 a day... it all started the day after I entered my phone number on Facebook for verification purposes. It's set to private (only I can see it), but maybe it got leaked somehow.

I get a call, rings once then hangs up. I looked online to see if it's a scam and it looks like it is. I thought I had put my number on the do not call list. Why am I still getting this type of call?

The "do not call" list doesn't apply to scammers. Kind of like the lock on your front door doesn't apply to burglars. Block the number and move on. They only use these numbers for a short time, as you can tell by the dates on the entries here. It's just an anoying fact of life in the new electronic age.

Same as others - one ring only, no message.  Probably Scammers scanning for active numbers.  Best advice - don't even think about calling back, just block the number and move on.
