they called and said they my attorney to call them because i had a warrant on my social security..

Yes, when I asked who they were the woman hung up on me.

said they were from Dept of Treasury.  They said not to call back.  Easy enough. SCAM

Said they were from Department of Treasury, Department of Legal Affairs.  Said agents would come out an arrest him in the next few hours.  Said he was not paying enough on his tax debt.

This is a Magic Jack number.  The *real* Internal Revenue Service does not use Magic Jack numbers.

My aunt was submitted to emotional distress by a scammer using this number

They were telling me they were sending the authorities to arrest me for past due taxes.  

Call and said they were from the health department, and to have my lawyer call them due to legal action. Scam- blocked number. Ymax riverside California .

1st call they left message and said they were from the Legal Dept.  Next call was Dept of the Treasury saying my husband owed money and was going to have bad legal problems.  They took our neighbor for $1000.00.  I asked her name and badge number and she no longer wanted to talk to me.

They called my home on 4/15 and left msg saying from dept of legal affairs and to call immediately regarding an important legal matter. I called and they said they were collecting a IRS debt. Had my address and phone number. Started asking for more info and I said I wasn't going to provide any additional info to them. Said they would settle for $2,000. I do owe back taxes but had worked out a deferment with the IRS due to being unemployed. They said they would transfer me to the department that could take my payment. I said this sounded like a scam and the guy said there would be someone at my door within 2 hours to arrest me and this was a non bondable arrest. I was freaking out until, thank God, I saw the posts regarding this on the internet. Thank goodness for sites like this!

I got the same message about the Department of Legal Action telling me I was named in a legal action and I had better have my lawyer call them to get me out of the legal "mess". THe guy was either Indian or  Arab and the message was in broken English and hard to understand.  I called back and they said they were part of the treasury department, but would not speak to me because the warrant was for David Hill. Little did they know my husband died 3 years ago, so bring that warrant on. I called the Florida Attorney General and the FTC and put in complaints. People like this need to be either imprisoned or deported.

I got same kind of call as Frances did on 4-15 2014 saying it was legal affair and they were with us treasury dept and advised to have my lawyer call them and i had better call they called second time and i told them it was,t going to happen they could have real treasury call me.

my brother just got a call from this number and it was similar to the others regarding Department of the Treasury -- he called back and asked for information about them, the man said " I need to know more about you"  my brother said " I need to know more about you too, where are you located?"  The man said "I am at your effing mother-in-law's, you ignorant b*stard" and hung up.  (BTW both of my brother's mothers-in-law have died)

My wife got a call while I was traveling saying that they were from the legal dept of the Treasury Dept. and I was in real trouble and I was to call back immediately. I called and got a recording.  I left a message saying to please call me back because I was worried. Of course I knew it was a scam.
Tonight they called again and told me that I
must speak to an agent. I called the agent and told him I was recording this and he told me that I was wasting his time and called me a [***].
The caller called back and said I must have not spoken to an agent and for me to call back right now. I told him I would not call because of what he called me and asked what would happen if I didn't.
He asked my address and said the police would be displaced to my house immediately.

Knew it was a scam before looking the number up. They said, in the message, that they were from legal affairs and were calling about a tax debt. If this were true, I would have been contacted via certified mail, the govt does not initiate these matters over the phone.

5/14/14-I just got off the phone with these people.  They wanted $3000 towards my IRS debt.  I owe back taxes so they scared me really bad.  Told me they were about issue a warrant for my arrest.

Same as the other callers, a gentleman in very broken English called from the U.S. Dept of Legal Affairs and asked if I was aware there was a case against me.  I asked Legal Affairs Dept WHERE and he said the U.S. Treasury.  He said if I didn't want more information officers would arrive in approximately 2 hours with an arrest warrant.  I asked him how giving me information over the phone would help (had an idea they'd ask me for money to make it go away) and he told me I'd have to call the investigating officer and gave me a phone number.  When I hung up I saw that the number he gave me was the same number he dialed me from.  People like this should have an extra special spot in hell.  If everybody is reporting this number that they're calling from how are they still using it?  Why hasn't someone found them and shut them down?

Most of these scammers are using spoofed numbers. Hard to track. And more then one group of thugs probably pulling these scams.

Same thing here - there is no legal affairs division that calls. Everything is done in writing for traceability.

Thank you guys for posting this, They scared the [***] out of me, but I put this number in the search engine while they were on the phone, Thank God For you guy!!!!! They kept asking me for a RIGHT AID, that [***] don't sound right!!!! and they all had and indian accent!!!
