I received 2 calls from this number and sound suspicious for me

Called three times said he was IRS and there are serious legal charges against me.  Area code is Banning CA, so I call him back and demanded to know who he is and where he is calling from.  He told me that he is Treasury Department then he hung up.  No sure I did a smart thing because this guy is obviously a hoax.  

There is a widespread IRS or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both Canadian and USA residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

I received 8 calls from this BOZO, he is a scam artist, with a little d---.

The VM left said he was with the IRS, there are serious legal charges against me.and I will be arrested in 4 days.  I called my CPA and was advised that this is a scam.  Do not call them back or give out any information.  The IRS would never ever call.

I got 2 calls from this IRS scam.  Left me a message saying I had 4 warrants for my arrest and the police would be here within 24 hours.  I called back and a man answered saying he was with IRS headquarters.  I told me he is wrong and he hung up.  I called back 4 times and after arguing he said would you like me to put you on the do not call list.  I said yes and that I was already on the do not call list.
