    Frustrated with these people
I got a phone call from this number asking for the model number on my copier. THIS IS A SCAM. These people will send parts you didn't order and then bill you for them. DO NOT GIVE OUT THE MODEL NUMBER FOR ANY REASON. The woman on the phone said the company was Global Imaging something. They always hang up once they realize I won't give out the number and I can't get any other information on them.

    They're scammers
They call from this number talking as vaguely and generally about "the copier that is there" trying to get you to divulge information so they may bill you for supplies or parts. They are scammers. Don't give them any information.

This has been going on forever!  I am in charge of my company's telephone system.  I have a designated extension just for all these loser telemarketers and believe me, I wear it out!  I send every last one of them to that extension, let it ring off the hook, and go about my business.  Eventually, they get bored and hang up!  I don't know how much time they are allotted for each phone call, or if they're paid on commission, but I'm hoping they are all getting charged by the minute to repeatedly make these harassing phone calls!

    Fed Up
I have worked the front desk at my company for 5 years and i have had to deal with these rude people the whole time. They sound upbeat when they call and say "hi, yes, good afternoon. how are you today?" you reply "thats great, hey i am updating system and need to send you out a new manual, can you help me with that please? i just need the serial number or the type of copier you have closest to you" they even ask for printers. Once you let them know that you know they are scammers.. you will laugh at the things they choose to call you before they hang up. Ive actually gotten into verbal arguments with some.. How is it possible that there is no way to track them? we have a number to them, and it leads you straight to a voicemail. Yet, no company name. I have tried to press 0, #, * to see if it will redirect my call, and i get nothing. this is so irritating.

    A.p.
Only been at this job a few months and they continues to call. Even before I was told to watch out for these scammers I've always been good at reading into calls such as these. I wonder if giving the address of the Mayors office or police department and a fake model number would help. If the city or police were billed they might be so inclined to track these [***]'s.

Ha, ha, ha!! I just got done dealing with one of these idiots so I decided, after years of having to deal with them, to play a little game. When the woman asked for the model number on the front of my printer, I said, "Ok, yeah, hold on..let me check." Left her on hold for 5 minutes. Got back on and said "012".  She said there had to be two letters in front of those numbers, so again I put her on hold for 5 minutes.  I got back on and said "The letters are F and U".  She typed something and then proceeded to disagree with me saying I was looking at the wrong place on my printer.  I said I'd check again, and then put her on hold for 5 minutes.  Then after the 5 minutes, I simply picked up and hung up on her.  She called back saying she was disconnected and really pushed to get that number.  I then asked her if she worked for Ikon/Ricoh and she LIED and said yes.  At this point, I told her she was a liar and I was purposely wasting her time like she does to so many people and then hung up on her again.  I had a good laugh with that one.

This company called and said that they were ready to send out the manuals for the copiers. When I pushed the envelope, and asked her for the 3rd time which company she was representing she hung up. She sounded like she was Indian, or Pakistani. One of the many companies that harrass, and hassle us on sometimes an hourly basis.

    Firewall
New employee who was trained well received one of these scam calls the first day on the job and knew exactly how to be a firewall.

No information was provided, and scammer was not successful. Scam caller was an Indian-sounding woman. The drop-down menu should have Scam as a selection.

    Stop Calling
I'm worried about a caller from this number.  Her name is "Kyam" and I'm not sure what happened to her.  When I received her friendly call, I could hear what must have been airplanes running in the background.  It was hard to tell over the chickens I could hear squacking in into their headsets alongside her.

She only needed the number from our machine to send us a manual.  I had my assistant looking intently for the model number on my copier.  He had to unplug it, get a magnifying glass and go outside to get the number.  I don't hire people with very good vision, it's a rule of mine.  Before I could get the number from him, she hung up and immediately called right back.  I let her know, I would need to call her back if my assistant could get the number.  Just as she was about to tell me where she worked, she must have been sucked into one of the airplanes and our call went dead.  If you hear from "Kyam" please let me know so I will quit worrying about her.

Yes these are scams. Whatever company you purchased your machines through or your service company has all serial numbers on file and will not call for them. The lady told me she would hold while I got serial #'s for her, I asked for what, she said for your copier & HP printer. She said it was for the purpose of sending us updated manuals. We have 2 Xerox copiers & multiple HP printers in the office, and I knew it was an obvious scam. I told her I will not release that information and she immediately hung up on me. Do not ever give these people your serial #'s!!!

We get these types of calls all the time. Heavily accented woman saying the company wants to send out updated manuals for the copier and ask for the serial number. Like others have said before, don't give the number out or you will be sent ink. The scam part comes when they try to over bill you for that ink and it is an absurd amount , many times more than the usual cost .

    Didn't fall for it
I recevied this call today.  The lady had an accent and her name was "Ashley".  At first she wanted the information for our photocopier, but then changed it to laser printer.  I went around in circles with her for a bit, then put her on hold while I spoke to my tech support at the home office.  Naturally they confirmed what I suspected the call to be.  While I was speaking to my tech support, Ashley hung up - but then called back to our front desk where she was sent back to me.  More circle talk before I hung up on her.  She then called back AGAIN to our front desk - she got transferred to me, but didn't leave a message.  Being very persistent, she called our front desk again, but the guy wouldn't give her any info and I think she hung up.

    EffingAnnoyed at these Calls
Number came up as 310-965-3663- caller says he is calling from Global Imaging and needs information from my copier. I ask which one and he replies with "well there are many in your office- are you near one right now" so I continue to ask WHICH one are you referring to (we only have 4) and he continues to ask if i can go to one so I replied "NO. No I cant, and won't" His reply was "okayyyyyy" like I was missing out on something i needed.

Do these Scam-Scum NOT realize we are smarter than them and are aware of this scam by now?
